I got a free tdo4 at work today, (yea vovlo) I need a bit of info on them if anyone has knowdlge. its apperntly a tdo4 hl j3t. I did a quick search, and coundlt find anything about a j3t, but plenty on the tdo4 hl's. im not to worried about where it came from or what it can do, but mostly about this werid waste gate looking thing.

im guessing its some sort of blow off valve, realease, but ive never seen anything like it. whatever, im sure it can eitehr be blocked off, not hooked up, or used for some cool effects.

anywho can some one please tell me anything they know. and yes I know its two small for my car.

some volvo turbo's come with a bov on the compressor housing.. its part of the casting.. thats probably what it is.

It is a bypass valve. for all practical purposes it is a bov that dumps right bak into the turbo to keep the air moving and to keep the engine workings to a minimal level. it is silent. but to answer your q it is a bypass valve not a wastegate!!!

hope this helps ya

that should be a TDO4-12B. thay flow a little more than a T-25.... i used to have one, in the DSM world its worth somting. take that exhaust wheel and housing and put it on a 16G compresser..... its kinda like making a mitsu T3\T4.

Aren't the stock SRT-4 turbos the same? Have the bov on the compressor housing?.....

SRT-4's have a TDO4-15G, and yes the "blow off valve" is the same way, all that damn stage 1 blow off valve is, is a spacer plate for the BOV....
