i will make sure to post progress and pics in that time
BOOST is my new drug of choice !!!!
awesome, Congrats on the purchase.
awesome, 3k is nothing for what your getting, great deal. i know when i build my ecotec motor next year i'm going with this kit most likely as well.

actually you wont have a cat. the hahn dp replaces it with a strait pipe.

i know that. my plan was to run a cat and the rear o2. my concern is that i live in an area with emmisions. i just wonder if i can run a o2 sim so the light does not come on. there is a few people who have this kit and i am trying to find out what other people have done.
It's easy to add a cat. Hell my car has a 3in pipe and a 3in cat where most of HRC's downpipe WAS.
I used to race cars, now I race myself.

adding the cat and o2 bung is no problem. the question i am tring to get answered is : what codes should i expect and what can i do to eliminate them? i live in an area where i have emmisions testing and it cannot have any codes or check engine light.
Rich system code. Get HPT and turn it off.

I guess I was lucky I never threw any codes with the kit, everyonce in awhile I would get the flashing check engine light, but nothing that ever stayed on.

did you ever check and see what code was stored in memory. when the light flashes this means the car has seen a intermitant fault - example (miss fire)- and records it as a code. if the light stays on this means you have a failure - example (rear o2 not working)
My car never misfired that we can tell, we pretty much chalked it up to a phantom misfire or the coilpacks nearly reaching capacity.
O2 sim will not completely solve cat efficiency problem. HPT will (and has for me). As for emissions testing, you'll probably have issues passing that even with a catalytic. It'll all depend on how efficient the cat is, and how tight the limits are.

your prices are a little off, also this way is proven to be a good system..
your not finding a decent ball bearing turbo for $400 unless its a ebay POS...
injectors are not $40
ebay is not a place to build a good turbo kit (all your prices seem to refelct ebay prices) like hahns stage 2..if your going to do it, do it right

this is my exact reason for going this route. no hassle, no having to fab intercooler pipes, tryied-tested-track proven.
what else can i really say, if 11.4s @ 122 doesn't impress you, go buy a full out race car and spend your life savings on it

I always hear about this "If your going to do it do it right" BS. And obviously what that means is pay out of your a$$ because you are either too stupid or lazy to peice together a kit. If you browse other forums you can find stuff at very decent prices. And just because some moron bought something off ebay and it was a peice of junk doesnt mean everything on ebay is. You just have to know what you're looking for and be smart about what you buy. If you buy a turbo for 200$ and it blows up then who is retarded? The seller?..No you are because you actually paid 200$ for it.
I found a Turbonetics T04B Super S trim, Ceramic ball bearing, Oil adapter plate, billet backplate, polished housing for 400$ NO shaft play (Locally)
And yes injectors can be had for 40$ you just gotta be smart enough to know what you're looking for.
88 RX-7's used 460cc<?> High Impedance injectors. These can be had DIRT CHEAP at a junk yard, get them cleaned and whallah.
-They have a square plug which just happens to work with DSM injector clips. Which you can usually get for free at a junkyard as well..
So you see you dont have to blow a ton of money on inferior parts nor buy the "Ebay POS" as this kid is talking about. You just have to be saavy and not
jump all over the first thing you find.
------------------------------------------------------------
Some people like quality over junk yard parts, Whats the big deal?
what is the difference in quality between my RX-7 injectors and some 300$ ones?, They have a sticker and paint..that is about the only diffeence
------------------------------------------------------------
I have an 88 RX-7, i got a spare set of Injectors for it. This makes me happy?
the point of it is still, this is a proven way to go fast.. the kit is designed for you its bolt on and go..
and until you have numbers you can't say that your kit is much better for cheaper.. also not everyone has the ability to weld there one charge pipes or exhaust up, and custom downpipes are expensive..
trust me i know what you are talking about. i turbo'd my 2200 for $1500 using mostly junkyard parts.. the big cost was the downpipe and megasquirt.... but did it perform like the Jtuners kit has proven too..hell no (i know that this is the HAHN kit we are talking about, but jtuners 2200 was proven at 180whp on 8psi) i dyno'd it on 4psi and a crappy tune at 127whp..with a 3spd automatic.. by the end of it (sold the turbo kit when i decided to do an ecoswap) it was pushing 12psi. which i have my speculation at how much power it made, but still cannot say it was better than one of these bolt and go kits for a little more money..
you can't say the kid is stupid for spending more money on a kit, instead of building his own set-up..
thank you !! RyZ96 that is my exact thoughts. i thought about going custom but hell i'll pay a little extra to have someone with, oh 20yrs experience in turbo charging!! design it. becides this is my everyday driver, it is also about, how long can i let it on jack stands for?
the only other car i have is a 12sec 84 z28 that is set up for drag racing
not very practicle ($2.75 per gal @ 8 miles per gal =
)
