I have the SPEC stage III and SPEC flywheel. Not the nicest setup for the street but it holds!

I'd say look into the SPEC stage II+ and flywheel combo. I'd do that setup if I had to do it again.

I might have an inch of clutch at the top before it locks down! Nice when racing and all but a bear in traffic or uphill!

Eh...old man with a Corvette now...it was bound to happen sooner rather than later right?

Given the choice I wouldn't go SPEC again for my clutch, but that's me. I know many others have been disappointed by them, also.

It was a booger to get together and hooked up but I got the oil braket to work. You are talking about what to use on the dip stick to mount it right? It is an existing piece that needs to be modified a little to work.

Check the instructions again and it should tell you how if I remember correctly...it's been a year since I did it and I don't have the instructions any longer.

what's so bad about the SPEC clutch, and which should I go for should I buy one?

I have the spec stage 3 and installed it with a freshly resurfaced flywheel, it flutters sometimes when you engage it. Of course if you are dropping clutch it grabs well, but if you are slipping it through a shift it will flutter and I have heard others complain about this also.

I have the SPEC stage III and alum flywheel (was on the car when purchased)... it started squealing at like 8K mi. and I guess it was rather expensive

I'd say that I am disappointed.

I have this same setup and had the same problem which im not sure if it was just my aggressive driving or they just dont last long but other then that i do like the flywheel and kit.....good luck with it. If you have the isuzu tranny you might want to try ACT.

Not to mention I have a perfectly good 400 dollar spec flywheel thats worthless after one of the threads stripped out when torquing down to factory specs (yes I checked it 3 times from different sources) So in my opinion I have spent 700 dollars on their garbage and will never do so again.
