Do I need a new fuel pump?
Friday, May 11, 2007 9:30 AM
I'm running lean(won't go below 13.4 at WOT) on a 2001 2.4 with a t3 60 trim at 4-5 psi with the gm reflash and 310cc injectors.

I've tested the fuel pump by squeezing the return line and it shows 80 psi max(stock 2001 2.4L fuel pump).

I have Begi 2025 with the needle valve completly close(idle adjusted to 42 psi) and it don't seem to work on boost or maybe it's just my fuel pump who won't make much psi......

When I floor it the fuel pressure get up to 80 psi and then drops back to 60-70 and it seems like no matter how I open or close the needle valve, it makes no difference...

I was thinking about putting the Ford green top injectors too but I want to know if it's the fuel pump or the begi unit that don't work....

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I think your injectors are maxed out...

The "310's" that GM hands out with the kit are designed to go no more than 190hp. At 7psi on my T3 Super 60 I was putting down 240hp.

Thanks shifted!

Do you know if the stock fuel pump is ok for 7 psi ??? (80 psi max is ok ???)

Can I put 440cc injectors( I don't have HPT) and tune it at idle with begi unit? (If I remove the old FPR I could drop the fuel pressure aroud 30 psi? )

Will it run ok after tuning the idle and the on boost ratio?

Thanks again!
