i just removed the stock 2.8 pulley on the m45 and have a quickchange hub to put on but having hard time getting it to go on because the shaft spins and doesnt want to press on. for those who have done it what am i doing wrong and what do i need to do thanks.
when you are trying to put the new hub on, it works best to put the new on in the oven to heat it up so it expands and is a bit easier to put on
oven's not gonna cut it unless you got a lot of time to spend
You need to heat up the quick change hub with 2 blow torches (i say two cause there were three of us... one holding the ring, and 2 blowing, but i'm sure you could do it by yourself, and use something to hold it that won't get hot) so that you can get it very hot. It's gonna take a couple of minutes, but it needs to be glowing red hot... I mean GLOWING RED lol (as I found with trial and error repeatedly). concentrate the flame to the inner ring of the hub, but wait til the whole thing is red hot. When you put it on, put it on carefully as if it slides down too far, you are gonna have a @!#$ of a time getting it back up and it's going to cool with in seconds so you have no time for error. you are going to want to do some eyeballing before doing this to get an idea of where the hub needs to be so when you put the smaller pulley on it'll all line up w/ the other pulleys in your car
