take a look at the timing cover right where the botls go in to hold the cam gears to the cams.. make sure the bolts haven't pushed outward on the timing chain cover at all.

Jay qwickZ24 or something like that had something that sounded similar. Idle there was no tick, rev it up a bit and you could hear a tick, rev it more and the tick went away. I was bad wrist pins

I had a similar noise, but louder. Turned out to be a bad rod bearing.

The plastic couplers in the snount of most Roots blowers (M45, M62, M90, M112) are all known to ware out over time. That could be your noise, listen close to see if you can find out just where the sound is coming from. A long extension placed all over the supercharger and engine can help you determine where the noise is coming from.

You might be able to use the dowel rod trick to locate the noise.

I wasn't able to play the vid but i'll share some of my experiences with a ticking noise coming from the engine with the charger:
Water pump went bad and was sending ticking/chain like noise from the timing chain cover so i had the pump replaced and was good to go.
Most recent was was last week, i thought the pump went again (40k later) cuz i had a similar noise. I used a flathead screw dirver to magnify the noise to my ear. Pretty strong from the timing chain cover AGAIN. So i took it in and then the dealership got back to me and showed me it was something else. the bracket that supports the charger has a free spinning pulley and the bearings in THAT was going bad cuz this was the loudest point and it transfered noise to the timing chain cover. So they ordered me a new bracket for the charger cuz they can't find a replacement pulley. Good luck with the search tho.
...... ahhhhhh, to bad no one looks in to old posts,
this hapened to me, looked in to geting that brackit, cost around 200 bucks, so i found a NSK sealed bearing to replace the holething. worked great.
ill pull up that PN for you.

anyone else had problems with the rods or anything....just from supercharging it? It's number 3 atleast that's what i think i've narrowed down to....now i just have to wait to see if it these wrist pins, connecting rod, or a rod bearing.....my noise is alittle different then his inthe video....but doing it at the same time...only during acceleration, and slightly at idle (hard to hear the faint ticking)...won't know till friday when i rip er out....any feedback would be appreciated...this will be my first...
i'm probably redoing the whole motor, since i have to take it out... so parts are somethin i'm looking for if you have any LET ME KNOW! ASAP!

Our cars have problems with the rod bearing stock so it is not a problem only with the supercharger.
