I know in the past there has been ALOT of confusion on how much HP the GM supercharger kit can make... a lot of people (myself included) lost hope when we where told that the GM kit can not make over 220 HP.
I won’t say what the max of this kit is, because no one has ever gone all out with it, but here are some numbers to play with.
Eaton MP-45 INFO
150 CFM to make 100 HP
And some math so you can find how fast YOUR supercharger is spining. Stock crank pulley is 6" tall.

With ANY Eaton supercharger, Water Meth injection is pivotal. it now only helps with cooling the intake air temps, it helps keep detonation at bay, allowing for more aggressive timing advanced tables to be ran, Helping to make more HP

Stock crank pulley is approx. 6.425dia.
I've posted the formula many times. Crank pulley divided by s/c pulley X engine RPM = S/C rotor RPM. (6.425/2.6X6200=15321s/cRPM)
Where did the pull the 150cfm to make 100hp from???

I have always thought it was good for more than 220 hp. I was at 214 with the stock pulley. I can't wait to get my built engine put back in and get some new dyno #s. BTW How come you have not dynoed your car Chris?

so its just over 405 CFM. or 270 or so HP.
go to that link, thay have the MP-62 listed to.

for my math i used 1.5 CFM per horsepower.
bu i have found this, and with this math, at 400 CFM i should only be making 180 HO

so a 7in crank pully and the pulleyboys 2.5 s/c pulley @6800 makes over 19000 s/c rpm's whats that equal?

But are you spinning the Sc to fast to be efficent.. with the 2.5 pully you need the blower to ported/polished to make a diffrence. with a 2.6inch pully your pushing it. all you are doing is pushing hot air into the motor.
The blower is for some one who wants a little more power with out the difficulties of a turbo kit. If you want decent numbers with the blower put the stock pully back on and raise the comp to 10.5-1 port/polish the charger and port/polish the head. use a meth kit plus a nice sized exhaust should make one decent supercharged z. probably in the 275 mark. The gm tune plus hptuners should equal out pretty nicely.
But this is just speculation.

.... SO how are people with stock pulleys making around 205-215?
my avd 1-4 times are 13.9 @ 103. i know HP calc's are not good, but my time says 225-235 WHP, and my trap speed says 260 WHP.
when people say its making more heat than power it can make, IE less efficient, WATER INJECTION.
the ONLY thing I’m worried about is the MAX rpm of the rotors.

If you measure the outside (front) lip. It checks approx. 6.71. If you check the top of the ribs , 6.425.
Max rotor speed for the 4th gen S/C is 16000rpm. The 3rd gen is 14000rpm. Anything above 12000 is pushing outside the heat range and limiting any power gained.
There's just no way around it. An MP45 (4th gen) is not going to push over 230 at the wheels on a 2.4 liter motor.

Well the center line of the belt for a LD9 crank pulley is 6.284"
Also to the top of the ribs is 6.406" or REALLY close on all the stock crank pulleys I measured. Old man rivers.....6.425" is within range.
Really anything smaller that 2.6" is really close pushing the 4th gen beyond its limits. At least RPM wise... About 15,710 RPM
Hell even stock at 2.8" is spinning pretty damn fast.
Engine spinning @ 6500 RPM, charger pulley spinning @ 14,588 RPMs.
12,000 is a little to conservative. I wouldn't go any smaller than the 2.6" pulley. Hell, your already about 50 degrees F hotter with the 2.6" pulley than the 2.8" pulley.
Also the M45 really isn't making any boost until you about 1500 RPM....according to the graphs.

Seems pretty normal to me, with a good driver. There are 3 or 4 guys in J-BOM in the 220-230whp range that all have ran 13.9 @100+mph.

The ONE person i know happens to be the highest WHP achieved from a M45 that i have ever seen. I would hardly consider that to be not doing well....

I will have to remeasure the RaceTech pulley. The 7" is outside diameter, so the actual diameter maybe around 6.75" max
