some questions
Friday, August 31, 2007 10:18 PM
I have a 2200 auto 3-speed with bout 104k, I am looking to go turbo in the near future but im doin a lil research first. SO I have some questions.

1)I've read on here that the 3-speed auto's are the strongest but slowest trannies. And I've read that auto trannies hold up better boosted. So how much boost or power would my tranny be able to hold up to before modifying it?

2)How much boost would the stock bottom end (with the fuel upgrades a usual kit includes) take before I would have beef up the internals?

3)I've noticed that the only turbo manifolds for the 2200 that I've found are T3/T4, I was wondering wat turbo would be good to use? im not lookin for alot of power so big tubos are a nono. Im lookin for mosty something that spools quick, provides a good range of power, and not a lot of lag.

no more cavy...now 240 =]

I see a cool-air intake
It's got a NOS-fogger system and a T-4 turbo
I see an A.I.C. controller
It has direct port nitrous injection
Yeah, a stand-alone fuel management system
...Not a bad way to spend $10,000

I have to correct you, the strongest tranny in a JBODY is the 4 speed automatic (4T40E), but yes the auto tranny is stronger for boost.

He's wrong, you're right. 3 speed are the stronger ones, I've blown up a 4 speed with boost.

just because you have blown up 1 with boost doesnt make them weaker than 3 speeds.....LMAO what a dumb post

they are faster than 3 speeds and stronger. Thats why people with autos want the 4 speed. I never see anyone with a 4 speed saying damn I wish I had a 3 speed
