boost s10 running rich
Wednesday, September 05, 2007 12:53 PM
I have a 2000 s10 with a t3 50trim turbo and a fmu for fuel. It was running lean at 7lbs for about a week... only when I got on it. My intake temp sensor was really close to the housing. So it was getting hot as balls. I moved it and pit a resister on it... (makes it think its cold and gives it more gas.) Can I turn the boost up now that its running rich. Its a stock tune for now...???

If you guys could read, he says he using a FMU.

How do you know it was running lean and now rich, using a wideband or?

no wideband... narrowband 02, using vortec 10:1 FMU.

narrowband doesn't tell you squat skipper. its just a ricer light show.

unfortunately, i don't see your motor lasting for too much longer. you need to invest in a wideband or take it to a dyno and have them use their wideband and tune your fuel setup. you aren't still using the stock injectors are you?

its obvious that you really like your truck, and thats great, but boost and half assed tuning don't really go all that well together. for what you have invested in your truck, you should spend the extra ~$250 and buy an AEM UEGO or some other affordable wideband. you'll be much happier down the road, as will your motor

I didnt realize I was running that much boost until I hit my limiter at 94.... I turned it down to 7 tho. Im suprised my motor didnt pop like a pimple... I am goin to buy the safc2 this weekend to tune it.

FMU and SAFC is like putting a band aid on a severed arm......... the 'IAT resistor' is like cutting said arm off with a butter knife.

any pics of your turbo setup?
