centrifugal supercharger

i'm interested in supercharging my LD9 but don't want a roots type charger. do any companies make centrifugal supercharger kits for j bodies?

The only company to make a centripetal supercharger for the LD9 was RSM...but I would highly advise against it.

If you are considering a centripetal type compressor, I would suggest a moderately sized turbo. It allows more upgrade options for higher horsepower if you decide you want more in the future and they are much more efficient...

...And if you are worried about turbo "lag"...well... you should expect it with the centripetal charger as well.

i keep hearing everyone bad mouth the rsm kt, but its always the same deal, ppl that dont have the kit, are the ones sayins its crap, just because thats all they've heard. i've had the kit on now for over two years, ans still have not had one single problem with the kit other than i needed to change the belt. i love my vortech kit, nothign around here sounds anythign like it. it turns heads all the time. no its not as powerfull as a lot of turbo set ups of maybe even the gm kit but, at 6 psi my car pulls hard. i have beaten alot of cars at the track, and i would definately buy from them again if i was looking for another kit.
one downfall to the kit ws its not easily upgradeable from the company but i'm in the middle of having a custom pulley setup made, plus hptuners, 440cc injectors and a front mount intercooler, so i'll see how the performance of the kit works when i start seeing 10-12psi.

Whoops, I just reread your post and saw "LD9". The one I linked is for an Eco.

That sounds sweet. Keep me informed. I personally won't be venturing that far with my kit. In fact I'm pretty much done modding my car. I just enjoy driving it now, but I'd still love to see what a set up like that can do.

There are accessory belt driven ones made for the Ecotec (non-J-body), but there aren't any other options than RSM/Z-spec for a centripetal supercharger kit.

I have a rsm charged cav thanks to VAGIIINNNAAAAA!!!!! up their. I LOVE IT.....
I had a mechine shop look at the bracket. They made some measurements and are in the process of making me another drive housing. This needs to be bigger since the pully is 1.3" yeah i said 1.3'.
the only problem is the EGR path is in the way of making the pully any more then 1/2 in larger. SO i need a 05 head or mill off my egr path.

the car will be at 10+ intercooled by next bash.
anyone interested e-mail me

horsepower is how hard you hit the wall, Torque is how far you push the wall with you
