Im boosting my car...The motor is a 1999 LD9 from a Alero. I talked to chevy they have a s/c for a 2002 LD9.
Did chevy change anything on the motors between 99-02 and if so what will i need to do.I already read the sticky about it but i just needed some more info.I know i wont be able to use the injectors and map sensor.
This really depends on if it was a early 99 engine or not. Does it have an EGR thing on the front drivers side of the head by the power steering pump?
FORGET GIRLS GONE WILD WE HAVE GOVERNMENT SPENDING GONE WILD!
If you find the EGR wade is talking about... bummer
You might need a 2000-2002 starter as well if its not already in yours (newer is smaller)
Your ganna need a good fuel management system like a fuel pressure regulator or FMU cuz the car cant read boost
And to run that stuff under boost, you will need better fuel pump and injectors
the best way to go though... HPTuners
There are only a VERY small few if any 99's that have a EGR system.
My 99 has everything the 02 motor had. All the m45 supercharger parts will bolt right to the 99...Including the map and injectors, but I'm not 100% sure on the Alero.

no he wont, the stock 2000-2002 cars run just fine for a fact with the gmsc kit, so why would the 99 pump be in-sufficient?
bottom line is this: if the car has no EGR, skinny (high-impedence) injectors, and the smaller starter, the gmsc is going to work just fine. if you have the EGR, fat (low-impedence) injectors and the larger fugly starter than you must go read the pre-00 gmsc faq at the top of this page.
As for the motor being out of an alero, well its the exact same engine etc. as long as you got the right year, the car wouldnt run right if it wasnt. the only things different between the n-body and the j-body are the fuel lines and the engine mounts. theres a few other differences here n there, but those are basically the only major ones.
Missing one important thing. He can't use the GM reflash, so he will need to either do a ECU swap, or do something about suppling fuel for the charger.
FU Tuning
Ok so ill basicty is going to be a pretty striaght forward bolt up...thats cool...as far as the stupid stuff about ECU and that crap me and my dad will figure something out...lol. But anyway it should be getting done with in the next few months ill be sure to post pictures for all you guys lol. After the s/c i want to do some other stuff maybe the secret cam swap or something. The car right now is my daily driver but me and dad are gonna strip it down race it. Sometime im going to switch the 4sp Auto trans out and put a 5 speed in but thats in the future. ill be happy to boost it finaly. Right now its pretty much stock except for a K&N lol. do you guys have any sugestions about whats the best thing to do after its supercharged?

i wouldnt be taking the tuning side of it for granted. its MUCH MUCH more important than u think. if i were you id read everything i couldnt about getting the fuel and timing delivery proper for your car, without them your car aint gonna be much more than a paper weight with that gmsc bolted on it.
