i posted my car on used ottwa i have a 96 grand am gt with full turbo kit lambo doors and a few motor mods and apperently there are a few guys that think it is preety funny on redliners.ca becuase they say that all sunfires and z24 and grand ams are @!#$ so they put my add on there and luaght it right up owell i say @!#$ them all they prefure there imports i dont but they cant keep that @!#$ to them selves they just bash the @!#$ out of people

unless they have evo's or sti's i can't see what they are laughing at is there realy a big difference between a fwd honda and fwd J. I say take it to the track and get a few decent time slips and rub there noses in it.

Same thing happened to me when i first went to the track with my Cavalier after bein away from it for a season. There were alot of new people out at the track, one was a kid with a civic 4 door pushing like 7 lbs. of boost i think, he laughed at me. Then there was another guy with a BMW 328i 5 speed, he laughed at me. I just laughed alot harder when i drove away that night with a 9 seconds flat slip in the 1/8th mile. We'll see whos laughing when i get back from deployment and have both boost and juice for thier ass. U keep on keepin on brother. Dont let them get you down.
There was a kid driving a WRX that was ragging on my brothers car (Sunfire) bad in the staging lanes and so of course we had to switch a few cars around on em so that my brother and the WRX lined up. Well what do you know my brother smoked him with a 13 sec 1/4 mile which isn't saying much for the driver of the Subie but none the less when he came back around to the staging lanes not only were we laughing at him but so were his own friends. LMAO now thats embarassing. Sucks too cause the AWD drive guys typically are fond of our cars abilities.

J's and most other GM tuner cars have always and will always be hated upon. Reason: no one really knows, it's just one of those things that we all know and expect when we show off our cars to non gm tuners.
I've been in the J tuner scene for almost a decade now, yeah sad I've not moved on I know, and it's always been the same, and probably always will.
Even when GM dominated the Pro-FWD Drag circuit w/ their 1000hp ecotec, we still don't get any respect. It's really not a big deal, just one of those things.

^^ agreed, i think it has alot to do with the fact that there is a billion j's out there and it dosnt take long to find one that some kid has just riced out and looks like @!#$. J's are everwhere...Easy to hate on
I've had my cavi since '98. Since '98 every body in the tuning world i know has given me ish about it. that there Honda was faster or that they could get everything including a kitchen sink for there Nissan. (i actually saw a guy with a civic that had a fisher price kitchen sink inside his civic just so he could say when people asked what do you have in there he could reply "everything including the kitchen sink") The point is who cares? Honestly, for those of us out there doing things and creating our own envelopes to push screw what the rest of the world thinks.
You know the day i decided to really toy with my cavi was a few years back in November. Here in Tampa we have an International Auto show every year. I ran into some guys that worked for GM at a cell store i was managing at the time. I showed them my car and explained my idea's to them. They laughed in my face. Said absolutely no way that a 2200 could make beyond 300whp. So goes to show what they knew. I might not be at 300whp yet but i will be just like MANY others are.
what i don't understand is how can some one with a fwd hopped commuter car laugh at some one who has fwd commuter car. how much diff is there between a civic and a J car
I think its a dumb american thing. Dumb Americans bash there own it must be all the pills. People Hate Gm and Ford and Pennstar some how every thing that comes overseas is so much better.I'll give a example of the dumbest Americans ,the ones in NYC we voted for a mayor who gave back on income taxes yet raised property taxes cut rookie policemen salaries to 25,000dollars. So people who maybe got about 3-600 dollars back from the state gave it back when they paid there raised income taxes. But since all the newspappers say he is so wonderful they voted for him for a 2nd term. Americans being the mindless idiots they are have been brain washed by the media to buy jap cars so they do.
Americans are just dumb and the million savages crossing over the boarder every year are only going to make things worse.
