Well im to the point of trying to figure out what i wanna do for wastegate routing. I have read a ton and it seems there will be minimal if any power loss with a recirculated wastegate as long as its a down as far as i can. I like to ease of the open gate though. What does people have and their opinions.
Ill be running 10 psi ruffly and should see full spool by about 2500 rpm. The car isnt a daily but probably will be in the summertime.
As for a flex tube i have read you should use one. Is there good ones that dont fall apart after a short time?
Any help opinions or pics and vid would be greatly appreciated..phil

Open dump sounds awesome! Plus it's easier to make. That's what I had on my old setup. Turns heads when it opens.
O noes!
Well i know it is easier..that is honestly the only alure to me..i dont really want a rediculously loud car..im sure athe 3" exhaust will be just fine....i want it to be loud but not annoying loud...this is my crusin' car / race car..
My last set up was recirculated but my new one will not be.
The only real benefit of the recirculated system is that is much quieter under boost. Other than that it over has negitive effects on the performance compared to a open dump. I've seen gains of 30whp from switching to a open dump from recirculated on high hp DSM's. Gains you would see really depend on overall restrictivness of your exhaust system, turbo manifold, turbine housing, wastegate size and turbo back exhaust all detirmine this. With a poorly designed manifold, small turbine housing, small wastegate and small exhaust a open dump might yeild some pretty big gains.
Another advantage to a pump is better boost control. In my car i've always had a issue with boost creep, i am hoping that a open dump will solve this problem.
As long as you can drive your car out of boost you can still have a quiet exhaust. I plan to use two very big mufflers in my new exhaust system so it will be quiet enough to drive passed cops on the street but @ WOT i figure who cares how loud it is because i'll already be breaking the speed limit, lol.
If you do plan to go the recirculated route using a flex bellows on the wastegate tube is a very good idea. Just do a google search for 1.5" exhaust flex and i'm sure you'll find what you're looking for.
Here is a couple pics of my old downpipe.

Hmm..
I am going to be running a turbo header, tial 38 mm wastegate, 3" turbo back for exhaust. My exhaust housing is .63 ar.
I had seen your thread you made on here..which got me thinking about flex bellows..well that and the corky bell book.
So ill gain power but itll be loud...ive heard it is bad though cause you cant hear if your knocking, and also cant hear the turbo spool hehe.
2.4L with T3/T4 3" exhaust and a 1 7/8" dump (G6 exhaust).
^^That seems very loud hey....
The window was down part way (St. pattys day last year) and the dump did end at the cradle. If I ever rebuild with a turbo again it will have a dump. Its nice how you have to listen for the tire squeal.

Man what a fun day!! And a FAST @!#$ car!! Something about loosing traction in 4th gear.
On topic, the car sounded great, until the ol' wastegate opened up. Then it sounded like the devil was ripping his way out of the engine!
Go Go OG Traction!!
i ran mine open dump, but its not tuned yet so i havent heard it open yet. im going to run it out infront of my driver side tire!
