FPR issues
Monday, June 16, 2008 11:01 PM
i installed my venom fuel rail and had the rail tapped for an autometer gauge to show what psi its running.

now even with me trying to adjust the fpr it stays consistently at 30-34psi, not sure what the isssue is or how to go abouts taking the fpr apart to look for something wrong

prior i had an rk sport fuel rail with a gauge in the rail and had no issue with adjusting the fpr

what can i look for as i go for tuning on wednesday and dont want to have any problems.

could a vacuum leak cause this?
why did you change fuel rails?

I assume that is your old setup since it says RK, not venom.

Are you using the same FPR and gauge??

What happens if you disconnect the vacuum line....looks like it is disconnected in the pic above.

i changed fuel rails just for changing from the polished RKsport to the black venom, purely cosmetic reason.

im using the same fpr but the gauge is different as i didnt want to pull the gauge out.

the pic above was with the supercharger still installed but it was connected and i have since removed it and installed the ho intake manifold.

only vacuum line change is that i have my brake booster going to the back side of the ho intake manifold instead of going directly to the tb. and in lieu of that i have a rubber vac plug covering it.

anyone else have an idea?

did you unhook the vacuum line from the FPR with the car running to see if the pressure changed?

CHECK FOR VACUUM LEAKS

Is that the casper AFPR? Doesn't it only go down to like 35psi and up to 70?

im almost sure my fpr is @!#$ now, it is leaking some fuel so im gonna try just replacing the whole unit first.

what FPR's will bolt to the fuel rail and fit in the stock location like how i have it currently, my internet right now is unbelievably slow and trying to search is painful

leaking fuel = bad.

AEM is a popular option.

Aeromotive AFPR, used in conjuction with the Induction dynamics fuel rail fitting... Which btw, are you still wanting one of those? Check the performance forum.

Aeromotive part# 13105

replied to the ID fitting, will the aeromotive part work with the stock fuel lines as well though

Sure won't man not unless u do some custom cutting and brass fitting plumbing to the stock line.

The Aeromotive part# 13105 will work and connect to the stock line. All it takes is a little work and a custom bracket. But i am upgrading to full ss braided line so i wont have to worry about that.

im going to be buying the id fitting and going with the aeromotive 13105,

also going to be buying these so i will be able to run the braided line to the return and the feed line

so with my purchasing the id fuel rail fitting, the line adaptors and the aermotive fpr will everything work then?

also wondering what the size/style of thread is for the feed line connector that screws into the rail so i can get the right style fitting for it

Do you need a AFPR at all anymore? Use stock? Since you do not have the charger anymore are you N/A?

i need the afpr as im going to be turbo'd asap, just waiting for the turbo to show up

also i heard that there might be an lt1 or ls1 that will bolt up like stock and use the stock fuel lines like mine currently does, does anyone know what would work?

I have those makes life easier lol

Yea i used to have the accell one.. Didnt mind that one.

Also, the rail mounted LT1, or LS1 Aeromotives AFPR are too big to mount directley on our 2.4 rails.. You can buy any of the AFPRS, just weld a fitting on to the end of the rail and relocate the FPR via SS braided hoses.. But the 13105 is the only one that will fit between the rail and the timing housing.

[quote=97cavie24ls(™)]accell makes a adj fpr

accell does make one, but I do not recommend it. Myself and others have had issues with them going bad.
