2200 Turbo New Build

Well I blew a head gasket about a month ago, and I went out and got a junk yard engine. Took it to the machine shop and had them re-surface the head and block (18-20 RA), clean and degrease them, press out the old cam bearings / put new ones in, hone the block, paint it, and put new freeze plugs in the block. All of this cost about 550, but it looks amazing.

Why didn't you just replace the head gasket? or is there something I'm missing?

I am going to replace the gasket, but one of the theads in the old block was heli-coiled and I wanted it to be perfect. So I just started over ..... Now I have to swap over my pistons and rods too.

The whole set up is done, I just have to swap out the old motor and put this new one in! I also changed from blue to black accessory paint because blues was hard to keep clean. I was actually only one day away from getting it tuned when the gasket blew. I was so pissed, but now I got time to do it right since I now bought a new daily driver (96 white cav sedan) and I'm moving out into an apartment that has a garage!!!!!

Has any one gotten a manifold coated with "JET-HOT"?
I got quoted $265 for internal and external coat at 2000F
I think I'm going to get it done!
