alright so i am putting a supercharger this weekend and im wantng to redo the exhaust this winter what would you guys think sounds the best but you can still hear the s/c
8 psi with m62 and IAT under 100
2.5" mandrel bent, dynomax super turbo muffler, 28" resonator
, probably some form of a decent header for the 2.4
ok ok thanks man
8 psi with m62 and IAT under 100
My s/c sounds mean as hell...exhaust is all 2.5" with the muffler from an Acadia of all things. NO sound from the tailpipe, and it's effing GREAT!!

hahaa sweet..

Of course it's quiet, you put on a stock, highly restrictive muffler.
I put on two mufflers (Magnaflow straight through then Dynomax Super Turbo), inline. It's quiet and high flow, ZERO rasp. Basically no sound from it at WOT so all you hear is the whine. At idle it sounds a little louder than stock, little rumble.

(Video's old but sounds the same at WOT)

I agree, 2.5" is the smallest I would go for a 2.4 SC with bolt ons. I like the DC Sport header but they are hard to find so a 4-1 header and enlarge the downpipe to 2.5"
I have a 3" catback exhaust with no loss in TQ

I really like the sound of your car. Do you have a pic or part number of thew magnaflow muffler you used.

I don't know if I'd particulary say it's highly restrictive, nobody knows for sure. But it was free, and the piping was the right size. And I'm not out to squeeze every last ounce of power out of this car. Free muffler FTW in my books

granted taking off the stock restrictive muffler is going to flow better and result in more power but it's a proven FACT that...
wade's car 214-217ish whp WITH STOCK MUFFLER
lots of others car's - less whp with a full exhaust.
failing to prepare is preparing to fail.

I wonder how it would sound with 2 of those magnaflow mufflers?
Yes the 214 was on a dynojet. There was a dynojet "simulation" done at the bash and it was 217whp. Guys lets please not get started on the dyno rant. Yes the car was semi-tuned meaning an outdated mail in flash. The tune is safely driveable but far from ideal for power.

another thing to be stated would be...
214whp- completely stock exhaust
217whp-pacesetter 4-1 ceramic coated header + everything else stock exhaust
but that was 2 completely different dynos, completely different states of the country with years of time between them so who knows how accurate you can compare the two...

Dynojets read 11-14% higher than a Mustang dyno, which is regarded as producing the most "real" numbers. Your 214whp Dynojet is a 190whp normal dyno reading, or a typical MP45 stock setup. Horsepower means nothing, track times are what it's all about. I couldn't care less what I make in HP, as long as it's quick.

My 212hp/218tq was on the same dyno as Wade. My Mustang number on the same dyno same day was 190hp. There is still more tuning left to do and I was not spraying meth either

As Brad said I was not spraying meth either. Those IAT's were in the 180's and I was running the 2.7 pulley. I hope to hit the dyno soon anyway.

I wish I had my laptop with me so I could have datalogged my runs, but I can guess my IAT's were close to Wade's
My next dyno may not be until after I get the M62 on and running

Quick off topic question, from what I'm reading it seems as though all of you sc guys seem very satisified with your setups, the reason I ask is because the machine shop doing my new 2.3/2.4 turbo hybrid is taking so long I'm just gonna get another 2.4 engine and I'm thinking of putting the sc on it and whant to get some opinions first. This way I can drive my Z24 now and whenever my turbo engine is done swap them out.
I found a 3000 mile Jasper Engines rebuilt 2.4 with auto trans locally for $800 and want to put the sc on while the engine is being swapped, what do you guys think? Also if I wanted to install a smaller pulley, what size and brand do you all recommend?

Worked for me...
NEWBES!
How many times can i say,
GET WATER\Alky injection!
I liked my 70* IAT's on 90* days.
