I'll stick with Mobil 1, Valvoline Full Synthetic, or my personal brand that I still won't name

Royal Purple hates high heat...just wait till you tear apart that turbo Vince. You'll see nice oil coking everywhere.

I used to race cars, now I race myself.

I stopped running RP in my setup. It breaks down way too fast.

I still run RP in my transmissions though. I swear by their Synchromax.

Mobil 1 or Valvoline Full Synthetic for me.

well i am glad i am not the only one that had that problem

personally i use kendall 10/30 semi syn in both my vehicles for the price you cant beat it, probably when the car gets built i am going to use something better but for a stock motor thats the most expensive stuff i will use

I was probably using about 3 extra liters on top of what I would put in every 3000 miles

Now I only go through about 1 to 1.5 between every oil change
Its nicer on the wallet when it costs 3 bucks a qt instead of 13

wow, i dont burn any oil at all. my car doesnt consume hardly any between oil changes. guess im just lucky with the stuff, like i said, i will tear it apart in the spring and see.

ld9's were known for going through oil to begin with, with royal purple it is just much worse

Strange, my LD9 barely uses any excess oil at all, I rarely have to top mine up between oil changes. 195,000km on it, been using Mobil 5w30 since 125k, changing every 5k religiously. And this is an engine that's now been boosted for 100k.

please post.... so your saying my 10.5 air fuel wouldnt show smoke like that? i never had to add any oil to my car between changes and it BARELY moved down the dip stick. i never noticed any smoking at all ever when starting the car until recently when i did a compression test and one cylinder was a little lower than the rest. hence my belief the rings are gone in the one cylinder and why im rebuilding in the spring.

your 10.5 would show smoked during accel not decel. And I dont even think thats rich enough to show smoke, my 11.0 never did. Like when he redlined your car during the dyno run and let off oil smoke would come out for a few seconds then go away. I didn't know why and didn't bother to venture a guess

you have those vids i can check out please? i didnt have to add any oil at all that whole round trip or anything and it was pretty much the same place as always. only place i EVER saw smoke was from the oil breather under the hood which will be fixed via catch can this year.

Mine had a little bit of oil smoke at the end of a dyno run and mine never moved on the dipstick. Smoke isn't a good indicator really. It just tells you what your burning, not how much LOL.

If its in gear could be worn valves w/ vacuum sucking oil back into cylinders.
