i recently began a project with my younger bro on a 90 laser 2.0 and a 91 eclipse gsx. the problem is..... I LOVE BOOST. just the sound of it, the feel of the pull, and the sheer fact of we are the fastest 4cyls in town (all three of our cars). is it bad for me to gloat? or just confidence in our work. all i know is once i have hpt in my grasp, only snapped rods will stop my cavy from being turbo'd for a while as my goal is well over 300 crank hp ( no where close to the 5-600whp of the dsms....and the gsx is daily driven ) but still a good deal of power and trq to boot. does any one else feel this NEED of that crazy spoolin sound.

I prefer the Whine over the spool. but yeah, i cant stop thinking about it...ever. thats what a car SHOULD sound like.

Maybe its just me... but, when i floor it, it goes so hard, it must be making all the liquid in my ears (you know, that stuff that tells your brain how to balance) fly to the back of my head, and it makes my brain think im driving up the side of mount everest!!! i get tunnel vision, like i cant see ANYTHING to my sides, its like it doesnt exist, all i see is up the road about 500ft. its pure crazyness. lol

at least some one else shares my view, i mean oh yeah the rumble of a v8 is great and so is the whine of my cams after 5600. but that wicked whining/howling sound paired with a tial bov right after is F'n amazing. i have semi drivers look over because i spool twice as loud as them.

Well then what word do you think we should replace it with? Its not like the word "turbo" which they use in many video games what dont have anything to do with turbochargers.

And its become a very common word, but I dont think people would like to say "I want more forced induction" or whatever

Power is addicting in all forms.

and the term boost is overused and getting obnoxious.

it might be becoming over used. i just love the pull when i spool and the sound it gives through any rpm range.

The sound of a turbo spooling is very addictive. That's why I can't wait until my 'Bird is done. It's even better when people are looking all over trying to find out where that noise is coming from. Cause there's no way it's coming from a Sunbird .
