Finished The Twincharged LD9 Project!!! TOO MUCH POWER
Sunday, November 23, 2008 7:23 AM
i finished it all. pretty fast, a little hard to contol. lol. still need to have it retuned by John Higgins. spins through all of 1st, 2nd, 3rd, & half of 4th gear before i catches traction. but i also just lost 3rd gear and snapped an axle on 2 different nights. sucks. even with the supercharger cranking out 6 psi the turbo is so freakin big, it doesn't spool up until about 3000-3500 RPMs. even in 5th gear the torque steer is bad when it spools. total boost going into the engine is anywhere from12-15psi. 130MPH with now problem at half throttle. with just the supercharger it would have to be a WOT in order to make it to that speed. time to rebuild my trans, replace some axles, lightweight flywheel, spec stage 3 clutch, ultra lightweight crankpulley, & some other bolt ons to free up some more power. as soon as i get all of my stats, vehicle weight, times, & power output. itll be posted!!! thanks to all of the guys who helped out with the info for the build!!

This car is stupid sick, custom manifold I assume? Love the positioning like that ever since I seen the quad pictured in the Maximum Boost book.

Where did this come from. Jesus.

My guess would be that he asked recently about doing it and now he is surprised to see it done.

My friend is sponsored by XS Power and he put down very good power with no issues with the kit or the turbo for that matter

If you really want to free up power you should take the intake heater off, it would help you out a lot more if you left it in the garage.

And for the record XS Power sucks!

anywhere from 12-15 PSI?
Whats the output of the t/c?
How are you controlling the total boost?
Is your engine built?

just as a heads up to you. im not building it for max power. i want a combination of both bottom and top end. i love this setup and no problems with the XS. i wanted the power from a turbo and still have the ability to auto-X.

i dont know the output of the turbo. need 2 boost gauges to monitor the t/c and total boost in the engine. the waste gate and boost gauge are hooked up to the factory port on the s/c for the fuel pressure reg. i have a 4 way vacuum line fitting for the branch off. the engine isnt built yet . thats why im not trying to run over 12 psi.

i think your biggest problem is trying to keep it under 12psi. I don't think you should run more than a maximum of 10. I'm pretty sure higher than this isn't good or the motor, and you'll risk blowing it up, but someone correct me if I am wrong.
