m62 bov?

can it be done?
i tried looking it up on here, but all i could find is that you can do it on centrifugal blowers, but noone had a definite answer for a roots style blower
I know this wouldnt be very functional, but i think that it would sound great with a winding s/c.....my guess is that if i were to do this,it would be almost next to the throttle body....

just wanna know if anyone has any advice on this,or has seen it done, please let me know

i dont think u can put a bov on a m62 cause its bolted to the intake not like the centrifugal blowers where the intake tubes gose to the throttle body.

Nope wont work. BOV releases compressed air from the charge piping, which is before the TB. The M62 has a built in bypass valve which releases compressed air from the intake manifold.

FYI, a BOV has to be located after the compressor for it to work.

A bov has a purpose on a turbo but not on a roots style blower...

Maybe you should just get one of these: http://cgi.ebay.com/Saber-EDV-V3-Fake-Blow-Off-Valve-BOV-No-Turbo-Required_W0QQitemZ150346310891QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item230156a4eb&_trksid=p3286.m 63.l1177

Serves the same purpose since all you're looking for is the sound. Or twincharge your car....

it can be done, but it would be pointless, u would have to make your own custom mount for the blower itself, and make a customer blower outlet plate that converts into piping, basically

something like that, but instead of running directly to the engine, u can have the it go thru piping, into a FMIC, than into the throttle body, this woold allow u to incorporate a BOV, but would be pointless and u woudlnt see a gain over the tradition way of moutning the m62, but yes it can be done, should it be done it up to you, its a efficient, not really

The guy who put the BOV on his car quickly took it off after and no longer is on the forums really haha.
We joke about it all the time....all it would do is be a pita to put in and cause major loss of power.........
