I am looking to do a remote mount turbo setup. I will need a return pump for the oil.
This will be an experimental setup so I dont really need a high quality pump per say.
I looked on ebay, and found one for like 230ish shipped. Does anyone know where i can get a cheaper one?
Anyone selling a used one by chance?
Thanks in advance!

you get what you pay for with stuff like this. The oil going through this pump will likely be over 200F. With the posibility of engine damage if the pump craps out i wouldn't cheap out.
This is true. Is anyone using one currently? I know remote mounts on J's are not common, I just need something cheap that isnt too expensive, not looking to go over the $250 mark.

Good luck with that. The pump I was looking at for if I rebuilt and ran a turbo was about $500.
Cavattack2200's wife's jbody is using a remote setup matt You might want to contact him for some input since he also tunes and boosts his 2200.....
Thats right, i forgot about that.
Thanks man!

Cavattack2200's wife's car has my old setup on it. The pump came from

We use these all the time on our remote-mount truck setups. We just experimented with a gear-driven pump that works extremely well (
much better than the first variant we tried.) If you need specs, email the owner of our shop--address is on our webpage under contact information.
Weldon pump K9200-A. Its a vane pump, and does not like any trash. Filtered oil is fine but you have to watch for any debri from assembly. They go around $400. This pump is a bit loud. OK, it screams.

No offense, but it's junk compared to the one I posted. There's a great write-up on the site that goes over all the different kinds of pumps and why they're horrible compared to the gear pump RB Racing puts out.

Gear driven is the ONLY way to go if you don't want to keep purchasing pumps. I went through three (2 diaphragm and one vane) before I settled on the RB Racing one.

No offense taken. Which diaphram pump did you use, the Tilton/ Flojet (its the same pump with different label)? I have found they just can't handle the heat and loose capacity or leak after 1 heat cycle.
Mike
Leaking was definitely a big problem with the diaphram pump...agreed. Gear driven has been flawless.

Shurflo 8000 series pumps. One was a santoprene diaphragm and the other was a viton. The santoprene toasted within a couple hours. The viton one lasted about a week before oil started backing up in the turbo and smoking like mad.
