2003+ saab 9-3 all trims came with the parts ur looking for, although some came with a "high pressure turbo" which is fancy talk for same turbo just wastegate set higher for more boost

car-part.com
2004 saab 93
turbo
found about 30 of them under 500.00

Wow...that's an awesome site! Yeah, there's a ton of saab 9-3 turbo manifolds on there. And turbos at that...

what do you do for downpipe?

Re: Wanting Saab Setup on ECO

Downpipe is custom, or contact brandoson. He made mine

I did the saab setup for the same reason just wanted a fun car to drive and nothing too crazy and so far I am really happy

same flange locations... completely different turbos. (not just a wastegate setting)

the low pressure turbo is a Garrett

the high pressure turbo is a Mitsubishi

Garrett turbo can be found on the 2003+ saab 9-3 B207L

Mitsubishi turbo can be found on the 2003+ saab 9-3 B207R

I have done extensive research on this. I have ran both turbos on my cavalier.

I made a jig for the downpipe and charge pipes I built for my car so that I could duplicate it for my brother and a few friends.
I have been making downpipes upon request for numerous people. My turn around time was pretty crappy on some of them though as I did the work on my free time.

I have used car-part.com for a long time. Its a great site that searches local junk yards. Most of them sell the manifold and turbo together.

If you get to a car before it has been ripped apart you will want:
Turbo (preferably the mitsubishi from a B207R but both are VERY similar in output)
Manifold (same for both turbos)
oil lines (dont have to use them but it sure makes it easy)
water lines for turbo (not necessary but will help keep it cool)
Throttle body intake rubber hose (its only about $30 from saab if you cant find one)

other than that you will need the other obvious things for a turbo setup... downpipe, charge pipes, injectors, something to control the fuel...

doing a search here on JBO will find you lots more info on the saab setup. I hope that's not what you meant when you said you searched and found nothing. The info is there.

good info provided ^ there.

as far as the other stuff goes, i have cobalt ss injectors and t map. GM reflash will work with the saab kit also, however a actual tune im sure would get you some more power. I am currently running 10 psi and love it. Car is fun to drive especially for being a summer DD. Just type in "saab kit" on the search here and you will find tons of info like brandoson said, the info is on here, just try searching some more!

How much can you find a brand-new SAAB turbo and manifold for? We may have an interesting alternative.

Not to be too mysterious, we have been looking at offering an affordable 300HP-capable TD04H turbo, turbo manifold, and oil feed/drain line solution that could also include an optional downpipe.

For one to be fully boosted, the remaining chores (all of which are readily available from a variety of sources and/or methods in the DIY approach) would consist of:

    *Intake and charge air piping
    *Intercooler (if so desired)
    *Tuning/fueling solution

You bet! I'd like to add that I am in no way trying to downplay the Saab turbo approach, as I can tell its supporters have put a lot of effort into it and frankly, I am impressed.

So as not to completely pirate this thread, I'll start another one about our new concept.

and this thread would be called??????? lol im interested.

horsepower is the force that determines at what speed you hit the wall, torque is the force that determines how far you take the wall with you after you hit it.

I know you need a different air mass sensor, could you use a saab MAP or no?

Forgot to ask you Bill, if i get your port fueler kit, would i still need an upgraded air mass sensor?

Give me a bit more info...what car are you asking about; I am guessing it's not a J since you mention a MAF?
