Hahn Stage II Kit - 2 Questions.
Friday, August 28, 2009 5:08 AM
Hey Guys,

been lurking on here for a couple months, and decided to finally join.

After looking through all the FAQ's, and "Hahn" searches, I haven't been able to figure a couple things out. I've been reading and reading, and I guess the tuning part kind of confuses me a bit.

Anyway, I have 04' 2.2l Ecotec Cavalier

I've decided to go with the Hahn Stage II kit, with the 16g. I am keeping the engine internals stock, and just want to run 8 psi for now.

The clutch will be upgraded as well.

After the kit is installed, I'm wondering about Air/Fuel. I know that the 335 cc (32lb) injectors come with the kit, but I don't fully understand if the car will run too lean or rich when the kit is first put on.

Has Hahn created the kit so it's bolt and go with the stock psi?
Do I need both FMU and FPR?
Should I just take the car to a shop and get it tuned for me after I install the kit?

Thanks guys!

You will see AFRs in a safe range with the hahn kit.

Stock internals should hold just with 8 psi...

Have fun! Going from a stock cav to the hahn @ 8 PSI is night and day. You will love it!

Very much so. It features a number of custom components exclusively designed to fit the Cavalier fuel system, so it is an enteirely bolt-on, fully engineered and expert-developed system. No part is missing, no matter how small OR expensive! That's what we're noted for.

No, in this instance, we provide the hardware to delete the stock FPR and ise the FMU we provide in its place. It even has its own bracket to mount the FMU to the engine.

You can, but unless you have an issue, it's not typically needed. Most enthusiasts do install themselves. We provide complete setup, tuning, and troubleshooting instructions, in addition to expert technical support. If your budget allows, you can take it to a shop when you are done...it's not a bad idea to let a pro look over your installation and perhaps catch something you may have missed. It's well worth the money for the peace of mind and long-term satisfaction it can bring.

Thanks for choosing Hahn! Contact me (sales@turbosystem.com) and we can talk cost and delivery timeframes. -Bill

Ya, Alan (californiaDomestics) has a stage 5 kit. Not too shabby if you ask me...

The stage 5/port fueler is an ingenious setup IMO. Having had the stage 2 and 5, the port fueler is so worth it. The car always transitioned smoothly off boost all the way to 10.5psi, made daily driving nice. I may not of had the FMU adjusted properly with the stage 2 , but every once in awhile there was a slight stumble as it transitioned.
