M45 with 2.6" pulley on GM reflash
Friday, October 02, 2009 12:38 AM
So next week I am going to be installing the GM supercharger kit with the 2.6" pulley. I am going to be putting the LSJ injectors in too so they are bigger than the ones that come with the kit. What I was planning on doing was installing everything and then driving to the dealership with the belt of the car. What I am wondering is will I be safe running just the reflash with these injectors and this size pulley? I currently do not have a wideband installed but that is next on my list.

The GM Reflash is tuned for the injectors that come in the kit. You will need a custom tune for the LSJ injectors.

You can't drive the car far with the belt off since you will have no alternator then.

The proper way to do it is to install everything except the new 2 bar map sensor, drive it easy there then put the new bar sensor in and push the car into the mechanics bay. However with the 370cc injectors I am not sure how well or if at all it will run on the way to the dealership. You might have to swap that out once you get there too.

Install everything and put a One WAY Vacuum check valve on the hose coming from the bypass valve to the Supercharger, that will hold the bypass valve open. You need to use the injectors that came with the kit or use injectors with the exact same flow, unless you got hpt. If you plan on changing anything from the original tune or kit you will want a A/F or you will regret it.

.... Or...

Bring your 2 bar map with you, and have it flashed FIRST.

a 2.6 with the stock injectors... works.

Not that I would know or anything.

wouldn't a 2.6 pulley with stock injectors cause the car to run lean?

she'd be getting there...if I remember correct I was running 12.8 on the GM reflash on a 2.7" pulley (stock injectors) with meth...so I don't want to know what I was running without the meth cause it would probably scare me...moral of the story, get lsj injectors+meth+tune and that should keep you safe. And definately get a wideband, its a little pricey but it kept me comfortable running the car hard.

I leaned out very badly with the 310cc injectors on a 2.6 pulley with meth on the gm reflash. Didnt have a wideband then soo I didnt care hah. You can add more fuel but then the duty cycle goes up. Ryan of p&p tuning wouldnt let me spray nitrous on the dyno at the 08 bash because I was already close to 13's afr without it, even though I had a tow incase I blew it up

Put in lsj injectors and a wideband, did some quick hpt logs and was much better. The car just felt much smoother, and duty cycle was only at around 80%. lsj injectors are a perfect upgrade for the m45 setup, cheap and easy to come by as well.

Cool thanks for the input guys. I just got my innovate wideband the other day. Getting a bung welded in and the header put on. Its definitely better to be safe than sorry, especially since its my DD. Then gonna get it tuned with hp tuners.
