Anybody using one of these? how do you like it? any pro's or cons? Seriously considering swapping out my TiAL for one of these because of the features. I will list what I have read.
The Synchronic Wastegate is a fundamentally new design that incorporates Synapse Engineering's patented actuator technology (U.S. Patent No. 6,863,260) to give you more tunability than you thought was possible with a wastegate. The Synchronic WG is the only wastegate on the market that eliminates the diaphragm, gives you the ability to control flow and has 15 built in boost settings. This is all possible without adding a boost controller. It was no mistake that the Synchronic wastegate was awarded the prestigious SEMA Best New Product Award in Performance & Racing Award in 2007. Sychronic wastegates have been proven to eliminate boost creep and provide you with more flexibility in tuning your setup. Each assembly is pressure tested to 100 psi prior to leaving the factory. These wastegates are bolt-on replacement to many of the wastegates the market today. Each kit is capable of controlling boost from 4 psi to 25 psi right out of the box.
Item Features:
50mm Valve - V-Band Flanged Housing compatible with most 44mm wastegates on the market today.
Adjustable Valve Preload - 4 psi to 25 psi control straight out of the box.
Synchronic™ Technology - Patented Diaphragm-less Actuator Design.
Integrated Exhaust Manifold Seal - For the best seal and performance among wastegates.
Integrated Flow Control - Results in the best performing wastegate on the market.
Advanced Engineered Materials - Top quality materials for durability and reliable performance.
Kit Includes: Flanged Wastegate, Pneumatic Fittings, (2) Sets of Springs, (2) Different Sized Valve Seats, and Copper Exhaust Seal, (2) V-Band Clamps, and (2) Stainless Steel V-Band Mounting Flanges
Suppose to be pretty good, faster response than all the other top names out there. When i'm ready to buy a bov, the Synapse is what i will be getting.
Yeah I am considering swapping to the wastegate n bov over my current 38mm Tial WG & greddy type s bov
imo i wouldn't do it, i put a synapse on the civic i did and ended up swapping back to the reliable tial 44, if you did any wastegate other than tial look at the new precision 46mm gates
R.I.P. Brian Klocke, you will never be forgotten
Matt Burgess... this is a wastegate not a bov... lol just thought I'd point that out
I have heard good things about their wastegates. 50mm is a pretty big WG, do you have a mean set-up?
I'm going to upgrade from my TiAL 38mm to a 40mm I think
When I do my turbo Build it will be with a TiAL BOV and WG. I trust them to work and TiAL does not run intentionally flawed tests just to have "proof" of how much better they are supposed to be. I never had a problem with the TiAL products I previously ran. TiAL is also a "local" company to me and I would rather they get my money than some douche bag.

TRUTH synapse are garbage....im going with a tail 44mm on mine
RIP JESSE GERARD.....Youll always be in my thoughts and prayers...
Yea all the vids on youtube showing how "unreliable" tials are, are not setup correctly on purpose. Like theres a vid on bov flutter and surge, of course a tial bov is going to do that if its not using the correct spring. Any bov isnt going to react the way its supoosed to if not setup for that setup.
the synapse bov are fine, but the wastegates are not what they did was try to make the wastegate a boost controller too and it doesnt work how its suppose too, the clamps are junk as well. every product has some "bad" production products it happens that doesnt mean tial is a bad company im on honda tech more than the org and all those 8 and 9 sec hondas are all on tial wastegates... when i had the civic at t1 which is a well respected tuner he told us that synapse sent him their products so he could give his toughts and start selling them needless to say he doesnt support or sell their products because every gate he has seen has boost creep problems
R.I.P. Brian Klocke, you will never be forgotten
hey boosted2point4... what kind of civic do you have? what motor? what's done to it?
The reason I liked this WG over the Tial is the fact that the WG is adjustable with out taking it apart or am I mis-reading there concept? What do you all think of the Blitz SBC-iD color type s boost controller? I had a brand new Greddy Profec b spec II boost controller until some one jacked it out of my car.
Im an authentic Tial/Tial guy here too and won't ever change to anyone or anything else. Just ordered my new Tial BOV spring, and have been running my Wg off the stock 6.5psi spring with a boost controller.
its my buddies civic i did all the fab work on it, its a 99 i think with a b18 gsr fully built running a fp 3586r, car made 450ish hp at 14psi, would start at 7psi and would creep up to 14psi going to get it re tuned here soon not leaving with anything less than 600whp which wont be a problem it runs on e85 and id 2000 injectors...
yea it is adjustable to a point they have springs that you change too but there are only 2 springs, its not too much of a hassle to change the spring on the tials. not sure on those bc i havent heard to much about them, ive been running a manual havent been able to get a electronic to work correctly on my car yet.

Brandon, when I first saw you posting in this thread I was like oh man here we go now I have the dude from the Ebay turbo thread trying to give me advice. Thank god I was wrong. Sorry for confusing you with that @$$ clown (boosted2pt4)
I have a Turbosmart manual boost controller on my setup right now. S&R performance said that I should run a EBC and stage the boost since I am planing on running nitrous and cryogen in addition to my turbo setup.

lol its cool i saw someone was trying to jock my name. yea i hear ya on the staged boost i bought a apex avc-r it would do boost by gear and boost ramping, kinda like the nlr ams1000, but my problem was if i would try and use it with htp anything over 15psi would be the same fuel for the 25psi my car was tuned for

god, these things are a joke.
stay with a trusted product<Tial..never anything else

my question is if these are really a "joke" then why do magizines like Import tuner and Turbo swear by them and their claims. I mean look I didn't just wake up and say hmm I think I'm going to ditch my Tial WG and my Greddy BOV. I just wanted to see if anybody is running them on their J's and what the overall feed back was. So far for the most part no one is running them on here so it's not a risk worth taking.

That's a pretty asinine comment. HKS makes gates that are either on par or better than Tial's quality. Both are excellent choices though with very low failure rates.

Magazines also sell ad space to "Turbonators" or whatever other electric turbochargers...so that argument does not hold up well. I have heard good things about the Synapse BOV's in the past, but haven't heard much about the wastegates. I would trust Fetter's word though and stay clear.

my neighbor ran both on his 01 chevy 4wd truck , on his street tune he ran 11.2 at 125mph , not bad for a full weight 4wd x-cab truck on street tires
he never had a issue with his wastegate or bov from snyapse
hey man I wasn't taking about AD space. I was talking about their power pages and test cars. They also advertise for Pajamama grams but I'm not asking about where to get a cheap quality cotton blend so that AD argument doesn't stand up either. You must have mistaken me for the guy who created the Ebay turbo kit thread or maybe one of the ones asking about throttle body spacers.

Nope. I'm well aware of some of the things you've done or have had done to your car. I don't read "import" or "tuner" magazines, so, to me, it was not clear what you meant. My appologies.

If you like what the company has to say then buy their product. Personally I will never buy anything from synapse based purely off of their business principles. I will stick with TiAL as I trust their product and they dont waste time making youtube videos trying to make the competition look bad.
