quick question. does anyone know what psi a windshield washer fluid pump is at. if so or know of a semi low psi washer pump i can use for a meth injection pump. i dont want to spend 2-300 bucks on a meth kit when i can build one. this is just my project car and i bet i can get it to work. im pushing 16 psi out of my ld9 build. oh and and if anyone knows were i can get a cheap differential that would be just swell to know
This was the first result I got when I searched "washer fluid pump psi". The search botton is a wonderful thing, use it. And if you don't care to read it then I'll tell ya what you are looking for just cause I'm in a good mood today.
Meth pumps are usually at least 150psi pumps whereas a washer fluid pump (IIRC) is under 50psi (not 100% sure on the psi) but the answer is no, you cannot use it, or should I rephrase that, you can use a washer fluid pump but have fun feeding a motor full of liquid. You need a high psi pump to atomize the liquid or else your just gonna dump the solution into your intake and well I think you know what happens to a motor when it swallows water. You say you have a LD9 with 16psi. Why not do it right, since 200 bucks for a good kit is a lot cheaper than a new motor.
FAQ
Even if a washer pump was 50 PSI, I promise it will not flow nearly enough to support your motor, let alone atomize the meth as mentioned above. You are better off saving your money for a good kit. I put my own together for about 250 with everything (not a progressive controller, it is activated only by manifold pressure).
i figured. i just thought if i could go cheap i would. im good with fabrication so i figured if the psi was hi enough i could make a pressure activated set up. but alright. i guess il spend the money. thanks guys
