Here is my dilemma. My TD04 turbo is taking a poop on me. It's leaking oil from the feed/return on the cartridge (middle portion). My question is does it matter what vehicle the turbo comes off, e.g Subaru or anything non-Saab? And if so, will it work with my current setup as far as being a direct bolt up? Thanks ahead of time.

I'm pretty sure your out of luck.
Pretty sure all the OEM versions of the TDO4 have manufacture, and sometimes even model specific housing flanges. Both to the manifold and to the down-pipe.
I'll let the veteran Saab guys verify that tho.
We may have a relatively bolt-in solution in a TD04H we carry. Let me know via PM if you're interested.

I see that the turbo applies to many vehicles. I've been searching and see that I will need a Saab only because of the exhaust flange side. So I have one ordered up already. So if things with that don't work out, Bill you'll be hearing from me.
Cant you switch the housings so that it bolts back up to you setup....if they are both a TD04 I would think that would be an option.
Search salvage yards. They're not that expensive.

No. Bad. Junkyard turbos stay in the junkyard.

can swap any tdo4 chra from a turbo label'd "td04l" only...u can bolt ur current turbine and compressor on any tdo4l turbo...which were found on some subies....Do not use a td04, td04hl or any other tdo4 varient, has to be a "tdo4L"
