ok before someone says read the other posts i have and i heard that the ss injectors wont fit right in the 04 eco rail... wasnt the 02 eco fuel system different than the 03+? and does anyone have and ideas that actually work beside making spacers? i know alot of ppl use them now so i was wondering if anyone perfected this?

John,

Sorry, are you looking to put them in an 04' rail?

Your profile says you have an 02.

Just double checking.

I am running an 04 rail, with the Siemen's Deka style injectors and have been using washers as spacers. I believe a couple other members on here are doing the same mod (tinkles, etc..)

It has been working great, and there hasn't been any leaks. I am against "Floating Injectors", so if you combine the washers, with the regular injector clips, they definitely aren't going anywhere.

Just remember that gasoline can corrode certain metals, and stay away from mild steel washers.

There was also a write-up about molding two injector cups together, but I don't know if anyone ever ended up making a set.

Interesting subject. I was looking to do this with my LD9. Is there any modifications needed to run them on a 2.4?

GMR has got nothing on this

1/2 x 7/8 is what I used...can't remember the gauge (Thickness)

Two washers per cylinder.

If you are able to, just pull out the gray injector cup and take it with you. Maybe you'll find a size in metric with an internal diameter that might work a little bit better. I noticed that the 1/2" was just a tiny, tiny bit smaller than the internal diameter of the cup.

but isnt spacing the injector pulling it farther up out of the hole it sits in? and wont that make it not seal correctly?

no, you don't space the injector.

You are basically spacing the injector cup away from the bottom of the port in the cylinder head.

If you take out the cup, and look down the hole, you have quite a bit of room to play with. The injector cups have rubber sealing rings on them, and will seal correctly with the added washers.

I've attached some pics for reference of when I installed my Siemens...

Step 2

Step 3

Step 4

Step 5
