gonna be doing some work to the cavy & while im in there ive been thinking of whether to change out my w41's for my ho's that are sitting here.
i think im the only one running w41's while boosted and on pump gas (91) ive made 548whp/493wtq which i feel is pretty respectable.
just looking for other ideas/options
Sounds good. But only if you sell me those W41's
GMR has got nothing on this
looking for others ideas, not sell me your cams haha
Could try and degree the W41 cams to get rid of some overlap. That's what I did with the 240@50 duration/.430 lift cams that are being used with the turbo.
I'd like to hear 430 cams with a turbo! Do you have any videos?
I do not know how a 2.4 would respond to w41 cams and boost... I can tell you my W41 Engine was a dog below 3500, but after that it came on HARD to 8K.
Faster then the LS7 in my GTO. Not kidding.

lol chris, he's running w41's in his car. it made the highest PUMP GAS numbers in j-body history.
I choose the technology built for land speed records... not the technology built to save on emissions and gas mileage.
Ok.
Just telling what I have done.
Ill keep any knowledge I have to myself.

The engine is built and the turbo setup is all there. They are sitting in my shed awaiting installation. Not sure when that will be.
to be fair chris was running w41s boosted on pump gas awhile ago. might have actually been about the same time as you did, scott.
i drove that car lol if it wasnt for the fact the thing needed a tune in the worst way i have no doubt it would have made somewhere in the neighborhood of 400whp.
it was a 2.3 though and you said 2.4, so....

I pulled all timing so it would make it home safe.
It was faster then my GTO... so 118+ in the 1/4. do the math.

W41's and boost seem to work out just fine but was looking for options/ideas as i have HO'S sitting here as well
Fetter was running the same turbo as you are with a similar build but HO cams and psi in the 20s above 500whp. Cant remember the specifics but I think you should try degreeing those dubs, it'll make more power than the HOs I think.
yes but fetter was running race gas.
the difference could be in the heads too... brandon said his head was only port matched so....
I choose the technology built for land speed records... not the technology built to save on emissions and gas mileage.
same turbo but setups are still different to affect #'s like intake manifold/throttle body/charge piping size and whatever else
any other people got an idea?
unless you plan on getting another set of blanks and having them ground to a likely turbo grind via comp or crane i wouldnt change it man, honestly.
I choose the technology built for land speed records... not the technology built to save on emissions and gas mileage.
anyone actually have blanks these days, maybe could get some ground up which would have me with W41's & HO's that have been modded for sale
oh i have two sets of blanks. AND boost grind cams, and huge n/a cams... and yea the list goes on. better start blowing ish up so i can use some, eh?
I choose the technology built for land speed records... not the technology built to save on emissions and gas mileage.
hmmmmmmmmmmmm, blanks are how much again? and what are the specs on these boost cams, they for t/c or a s/c?
id also like to know the specs on these cams you speak of.
