So, I have been reading around for a long time on turbocharging for the 2200, and I had a few questions regarding the LD9 reflash for the 2200.
here's what i think I need
Turbo (obviously)
supporting things for turbo:
oil lines,
charge piping,
intercooler,
waste gate
BOV
some sort f boost control
manifold with proper flanges,
rest of the exhaust
vac/boost referenced FPR
new injectors, Ford red tops?
probably a new fuel pump
boost gauge
fuel pressure gauge
wideband o2 gauge
misc wiring, connectors clamps... etc.
oh, and the 2 bar MAP sensor
Now what I'm not sure on is how the LD9 2 bar tune works.
From what I've read, you can play with timing and fuel delivery, so I would assume you can leave the ignition setup fairly stock or go with better coils, but you don't need an external unit to change your spark timing. Same basic thing with the fuel, you need more injector/rail pressure to keep up with manifold pressure, but you don't need an external -piggyback- fuel computer.
obviously the tune would need some adjustment but am I fairly close on how this works?
not going for anything crazy, from my thinking, this should be good for 180 hp?
anyways, just looking to get my thinking validated, I can't seem find a ton on the LD9 re flash
if you can point me to any particularly good threads on this feel free.
thanks in advance.
I would get 310cc or larger injectors to start width. 310cc is stock for the LD9 M45...and would happen to be the stock injector constant in the re-flash.
I would get everything running and reflashed with the 310cc injectors and go from there. Really a larger fuel pump , and larger injectors is all your need fuel wise (with a tune.)
