Yeah, but that's so ricer. lol.

Learn to burn your own chips and use the factory boost control. There's many improvements to be found in tuning.

oh yea no doubt, tuning is fun. Tuning our turbo honda sedan on Uberdata was a blast with the ROM burner. I wish I could do the same with my car.

There are a lot of guys doing chips on fbody.org. There used to be guys on the syty list burning chips. gmecm is a mailing list dedicated to chips and code for the GM computers.

The problem with those sites is that there's a ton of info... way more than a person needs to know at first.

Go to Darkmuck's page and post there. There's another guy starting to do his own chips, and one other guy was just asking about getting started. It might be good for you guys to swap questions.

seriously it is up to how much money you want to spend I have a blitz electroinic boost controller and it works great ---

If you want a manual one I would probably do the turbo xs it is cheap and works--

I use a cheap manual controller from http://www.dawesdevices.com
Reprogramming the ECM per the above is a nice idea, but to me not pratical. I don't always have a romulator or prom burner with me, and I have no downsides to using my manual controller.

I can't believe I'm reading this! Not carrying the prom burner everywhere??? lol.

I don't usually carry the laptop/ burner with me unless I'm working on tuning a car. But the romulator has been installed in the Cavalier for over a year. It's just too easy to leave it there.

I did wish I had the laptop plugged in when I got to playing around with a Ford Lightning in traffic. All I needed to do was turn up boost for a few blocks and that would have been enough. Imagine what it would have looked like from the seat of the Ford. A laptop comes out at the red light, then all of a sudden the car you passed at the last light is passing you.

I just like being able to make changes without stopping the car and without getting my hands dirty. It's too much fun. I've connected the laptop at a red light while the wife's driving, made a few changes, then disconnected everything and put it away in the back seat. How much better can it get?
