ok, i'm swaping my 3spd out and putting in a 5spd, here is the question......
is the wiring for the auto the same as a manual? or do i need to go junk yard hunting for a engine harness that came out of a manual cav?
the reason for good sticky tires!
Wiring is different... aside from the wires to the tranny.. there's the clutch start switch in the dash... and some other ones I'm sure, but I haven't got to all of them just yet.
I pulled a complete car harness... hopefully it's all intact...

i used the stock auto harness when I did it....

SpeedRacerZ : did you had to modified the auto harness? if so, which wires did you had to modify? also were the auto & manual tranny mounts the same, or different?

bump.

i just finished mine about a month ago or so and i also re-used the old harness....
the only thing you need to do to the harness is
1. for the vss you just cut the wires to the old sensor and splice in the new one(wires are the same color)
2.b/u light sensor same exact thing except your going to need to add some wire for length.
3.the clutch saftey switch there is a thick yellow wire in the junction box for the harness you cut it and attach the yellow wire off of the switch to the loose end and the purple wire off of the switch to the end that is still attatched to the junction box.
and the tranny mounts are different from auto to manual, you will have to get some welded on
this was for a 96 2.2 liter from a 3spd to a 5spd i am not sure if there is a difference between the z24 or the eco engine
