Is your transmission suppose to jerk when you put it from P to D? Or from N to D? If I remember correctly it only happens when I doing those three things. Other wise it shifts find. Its a 98 sunfire auto.
Its not supposed to jerk ridiculously to the point where the car shakes, but you are supposed to here the sound of it shifting, which is usually a *thud*.
