OK everybody i have a question if money is no problem which would you get if you were me. i have heard so much good things about both but i don't know which is better. i was wondering that if you have ether one on your car can i get some feedback and why you like it .
Autotrans....shifts hard.....you can adjust it if you don't like how it's set. From my experience i tweaked it alot till i found the "perfect" setting for me. And if i add any more performance i can fine tune it. Plus it was literally a 30 second install. Anyone can do it.
The b&m only has a few settings but you can switch them on the fly from in the car i guess. B&M also costs less.
I weighed the options and i went with the autotrans.

i have the B&M and love it. i can cruise in setting 1 and if i am racing just flip to setting 2. with the autotrans you have to pop your hood.
the B&M drops harder then any other manual i have ridden in, and chirps the tires in 2nd and 3rd gears.
.
.
I had the B&M didn't like it at all, got the interceptor and it works much better. alot more adjustable and shifts much better with it. if your too lazy to adjust it under the hood get the b&m, but the interceptor just works much better
Uh... I'd check on that folks... I don't think I've ever "chirped the tires" in an auto... I know damn sure when I had the Autotrans Interceptor at 100%, if I let off the gas from hard throttle, that I was "chirping" the BELT not the tires.
That's not exactly good for the car....

do any guys on here have the 3100 and 4t40e with the B&M shift plus?
i think i might buy the b&m but idk how my car would respond to it
i have a 98 malibu ls with the 4t40e and 3100sfi (3.1L)
Auto Trans cause you can adjust it to how sensitive or hard you want it instead of pre-settings like B & Ms.

Looking at your registry, I'm not to sure the Autotrans would work foryour 2.2 OVH.
But if it does, and 'money is no object'.go for the autotrans.

Remember....syringes go in the RED waste basket.
I'm a Big Fan of my B&M, but I mainly use mine only at the track. In level 2 setting i can chrip the tires from 1st to 2nd most of the time. I soldered it in to make sure it has a good connection all the time, had problems with the wire splicers that came with the kit.
Never used the autotrans before.

so what about my question
any v6 guys on here?
I chirp my tires into second with the interceptor. Its not a hard chirp just a little one. I have a 2.2 ohv with the 4t40e. Its definitely a harder shift. Probably not too good if you have an old worn down tranny. Sorry Lenko....if you want i'll send you a sound clip sometime.

Hey, I'm not doubting the noise... but be VERY certain where it's coming from. I used to "chirp" second AND third.. but it was the drivebelt from the engine suddenly slowing down from 6,500 rpms to a much slower speed.
People were watching my tires... they never broke traction... ever... even in wet weather. And I had that sucker at 100% since day one.

Hmm....i'll have to look into that.

It goes into between where the transmission cable plugs into the engine.

Hey Lenko I have the same problem with the belt. But with my stock tires, My 17's with Toyo tires, and when I had the Perrelli Tires on my 19's I was able to get my tires to chirp going into 2nd gear. I had to manually shift from 1st to 2nd. But I was able to do it. I haven't been able to do it since I got my Fuzion's on my 19's though. And I never have been able to do it going from 2nd into 3rd.
Soo Trust me Lenko it can be done. Hell Ryan E IMPHAT/Cavattack got me started shifting manually for that reason. LOL
I also perfer the AutoTrans I adjusted it to what I want. And since I am doing my susupension for performance I leave my AutoTrans set at the same level all of the time.
Only Bishses can't handle it all of the time.
Hey, I'm not doubting that it's possible... just be VERY certain that it was your tires not the belt.
A long long time ago, I was 100% convinced that I was chirping the tires... and I stated it on here many times. Then someone told me it wasn't the tires and it could be the belt... so we took the accessory belt off, and lo and behold the "tires" stopped chirping.
So... if you're sure it's the tires... good times. But I had to make sure... and I was wrong on my car.. so... if you have the time to try it
<a href="http://www.lenkorules.com/"><img src="http://s93165229.onlinehome.us/images/misc/redsig.jpg"></a>
It is pretty obvious when the belt chirps and when my tires chirp. It is a distinct diffrence. I haven't been able to chirp my tires lately because of the sticky Fuzions. But that belt sure makes some noise lol and it makes it all of the way to 3rd gear.
But like I said I can only get the tires to chirp on harder and smaller tires and only going into 2nd. Never into 3rd

You can't really compare the 2. The more % doesn't necessarily mean the better for you. The more %, the harder your transmission will shift and that puts more pressure on your transmission also. If your daily driving, 100% might be way too much, other 50% is fine...it's really up to the driver for what is best.
I believe the B & M only has 2 settings and that's it...that's why I prefer the Auto Trans Interceptor.
