I have an isuzu 5 speed in an 82 cavalier. For some reason I have lost 1,3, and 5th gear. I checked the shifter cables and everything seems to be fine. Is this an internal problem? Has anybody ever run into this before? 2nd, 4th and reverse work just fine. HELP!!!!

this is the same thing for me but exactly the opposite please help us someone i have lost 2nd 4th and reverse all my even numbers. 1, 3 and 5 work fine, it happened while hard shiftiung from 1to 2 can you tell me what this is blown syncros? differential? whole tranny etc? please help us out
Its an 82 man . . . Take a gun and shoot it, then buy a new car, lol
Sounds like the synchos could be shot, but its old, I guess that'd happen?
most likely the shift fork is broke. you'll only know for sure when its opened up.
Found my problem, it was just the cable adjustment that loosened off. Thats all!

lol...... I'm late, but was going to tell you to look at the cables again...... thats what it usually is when you loose either all the evens, or all the odds.....
and I'd love to have a Z24 hatch.....
