well i was about to drain the fluid on my auto tranny i was wondering if i should change the gasket when doing this or if there even is one and what fluid u recomend putting back in thanx!
You will need to change the gasket. It will probably break when you drop the pan. Also, you might want to change the filter as well. I had a car thats tranny filter was jacked up and was giving me the same problem your having. As far as the tranny fluid, I believe you can use any kind. You might want to double check on that, my Dad picked mine out.

I dont know what kind mine uses, but it broke when i took it off.
Buy a filter kit from an auto parts store and two 5 quart jugs of dexron III compatible fluid.
Drop the pan, replace filter, and reinstall pan with new gasket.
Jack the front of your car up and place it on jack stands. Have someone hold a level on the bottom of the transmission pan while you jack up the rear of the car untill the transmission is level.
Add a good 5-7quarts of fluid.
Remove the fluid level check bolt (just under the pasenger side axle).
Get a long funnel and place into the transmission fluid hole on top of the transmission.
Start the car and continue to add fluid untill fluid comes out of the check hole.
Reinstall the bolt and remove the funnel.
