ever sense i got my 98 z24 there has been a whining noise but once i put the clutch in it went awawy....i got a new engine and clutch kit installed a few weeks back.....now i was sdriving back from burgerking and it went into gear....had very bad tourque....and made horrible hellish noises like high pitch one second then grinding ...its horrible...this IS a blown tranny, rite??

How much should i be spending on getting a new tranny orthisone rebuilt??

You should be able to pick up a good one at a yard for a couple hundred bucks.

That sounds like a throwout bearing to me. If it makes a wierd noise with the clutch disengaged, and it doesnt when the clutch is engaged, then check the throw out bearing. I don't know the symptoms a TO bearing would have when completely bad though.

Very good point. Did you change the slave cylinder when you did the clutch? That part doesnt normally come with the clutch kits for our cars. So if you didnt replace that too, then it's probably bad.

idk i got the whole clutch kit. So the throwout bearing has been replced so it cant be that. idk if i should drive the car like this or no . like to th eshop or have it towed.

Apparently you didnt read my post. "That part doesnt normally come with the clutch kits for our cars".

I guess I should specify. In our cars it's a "Slave Cylinder/Throwout bearing" It's one piece, it's expensive, it sucks. But it sounds like that's a problem.
