Just about a month and a half ago my slave cylinder took a @!#$ on me and I took it to a local Cottman Transmissions to have it repaired. Well, he pulled the trans and replaced the slave cylinder and said the clutch and flywheel both needed replaced because when the flywheel was installed too much was shaved off and it had done something or other and ruined the clutch (which all worked fine before hand, just hard to use when you have no slave cylinder). He also says the master cylinder was bad, too, which I think was a crock'o'@!#$ but anyway, while he had it apart I asked him to install my Team Green LSD insert differential I got. So, he replaced the slave cylinder, master cylinder, clutch, flywheel, and installed the differential all for $1,300.
So, I get it home and I realise I have no back-up lights and I also noticed cruise control didn't work anymore. So I take it back a few days later and say, Hey, this and this don't work, why? He says, Oh, it wasn't me, I didn't touch that stuff, especially the cruise control. Right, everything works before hand and suddenly after having some repairs done these things don't work? Coincidince? I think not. Anyway, the idiot screwed up the back-up light switch but luckily I had two transmissions in my garage so I took the switch out of one and put it in the car and it worked though I haven't figured out the cruise control thing yet.
Now, today, I get in the car to head to work. I work 4pm to midnight. Right when I started the car I knew something was wrong because the clutch seemed to have much, much more play then usual but I just figured it was something stupid. I realised it was bad when a few minutes later I pulled up to a red light and had the clutch pedal fully depressed and let of the brake and the car started moving... on a level surface. By the time I had gotten to work, about 35 miles, the clutch was not completely disengaging and it was very obvious. On the way I had called the shop I took it to and they asked if I could bring it by tomorrow. If I do take it back, should I demand this idiot fix it RIGHT and for FREE?
I managed to get the car home by putting it in gear and THEN turning the car on whenever I had to come to a complete stop. I "shifted" gears by running through the RPMs and then popping it out of gear at 4,000+ and then lightly pressing towards the next gear until it fell into the proper RPM range so it would slide right in. That was a pain in the ass.
Well, sorry for the rant, this just pisses me off and it didn't help I had a @!#$ty day at work, either.
Sounds like there's air in it.
For the Cruise, check the switch by the clutch pedal, thats what happened on mine, it needed to touch the top of the pedal (Depressed), the car thought the clutch was pushed in basicly.
