Had my car bout 19 months now. Never really paid attention till i drove my fiances 02 Z, but her clutch pedal feels harder to push down, and grabs about halfway up, where as mine is effortless to push down, and grabs high up at the top almost all the way released. never had a grind, minor slipping, but i beat on it. Just wondering if its time for a new one, or if this is just normal wear. if so im going spec stage II and spec lightweight flywheel. what do you guys think tho on how its acting?
How many miles does the clutch have on it? And you say it DOESN'T slip?? It might be time for a new one but im not the biggest expert with clutches... so i hope i can be some help
Silly ricer, useless wings are for penguins.
minor slipping, nothing BAD per say. but im no expert on clutches so not really sure what is considered bad. ya know? but the clutch has never been replaced and the car has 57,000 miles on it. it was babied for 32,000 and when i got it and modded it, i havnt been very light on it. so thats one vote for get a new clutch.
it could be the clutch itself worn, or the master cylinder for the clutch?
ive got a friend who now has the same problem. might be the pressure plate too. maybe it is time for a new clutch...

Try bleeding it. If air comes out, continue to drive the car. If it acts up again, bleed it again. If more air comes out, it's a bad master cylinder.
And if you dump the clutch in 5th gear with the brake on, and the car doesnt stall within a couple seconds, your clutch is probably bad. I just wouldnt suggest trying this in case you were ready to get a new one real real soon. Cuz if it dont stall, your clutch will probably die very soon.
ill try bleeding it and see what comes up
