Clutch Quick Disconnect - Replacement O-Ring?
Monday, January 15, 2007 9:09 PM
I finished putting my old motor back in my car, bled the clutch, started it up, and put it in first gear. As I was holding the clutch in, is started to grip, and took off on me and damn near ran through the garage door. Had to slam on the brakes, and the car choked off. After thinking it was a bad slave clyinder, turned out the o-ring in the quick disconnect line was chopped in half. The fluid was slowly leaking from there. Any idea if that o-ring is replaceable, and/or where I can get a replacement?

Also, I have an anti-freeze leak from the heater hose disconnect at the rear of the engine. Any idea if there is supposed to be an o-ring or something on that?

If the O-ring is in half then it should pull off. If it pulls off then you can replace it. As for getting one you will need to go to a store (probably hardware store) and try to match up a O-ring. The heater hose disconnect, are you referring to the 2 plastic tabs you push and the hose slides off? If so you can take that part off and put the hose on the pipe with a hose clamp. Those wear out over time.
