I just bought a used autotrans interceport for my 01 Cav 2200, I have upper and lower mounts on the car. I was just wondering where everyone that has it is setting it to? Also what is the adjustment for the tq converter for?

I just installed mine as well. I have read here that a lot of people just run the factory setting. Which is 20 PSI of line boost. I used that setting. It is definitely a noticeable difference.
Every day driving and more sporty driving really doesn't need a different jumper setting. The more RPM's your running at the more it boosts. Thats normal transmission operation, our line pressure is just stepped up a little more than stock.
For me when running the 20 PSI I can feel the shift a little in normal driving, To me it feels like a better shift than the stock one. When you stomp on the pedal you definitely feel the transmission shift through the gears with more ferocity.
The TC delay is a delay before the TC engages. I believe as soon as the TC would normally engage, (IE 3rd or 4th with no brake pedal, transmission warm) there is a delay. Also if you change gears from third to fourth or vice versa i believe it dis-engages the TC and re-engages it after the shift completes. I might be wrong on that though.
Well I recieved it today and put it on. I dont really feel any difference from it until the trac off light comes on with it? Is this common with this?

Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!
Does that mean that it is going into limp mode and not using the interceptor then?

If you have settings for both the TCS and line pressure, then set the TCS control all the way and your line pressure about 75% or so.
I've been running my car this way for 6 years now and not a problem with it.
I also drag race with this setting as well and have always had a good shift.
Also, with the TCS control set to max, you're basically getting a virtual 5th gear when doing normal driving.
The delay will be long enough to again, give you a virtual 5th gear which is the actual lockup of the torque convertor.
Your tranny won't actually lock up until you reach 4th gear in which the TCS will then lock.
Hope this answers your question.

good to know then thanks. will it sound like it's beating my differential to death going into gear every time as well with it set like that misnblu?

Ok this thing is acting like my car having the IAT unplugged and I was told that it's not good for the trans being that way. It's really bothering me tha it's not working right. It's either nothing or the full line pressure. there is no adjustment.

Did you reset the ECU after you installed the Interceptor?
Also, your Interceptor should have no bearing on your ets or traction control.
The other thing to remember is to NOT go full acceleration with the tires full lock in a turn.
This is a no-no for the differential.
Reset the ECU and see what happens with it.

I did reset the ecu I let it sit for almost a hour. Same difference it's either all or nothing with it. Seems like there is no adjustment out of it.

The only thing I can think of is that there is a year of 4t40e tranny that doesn't take to the Interceptor very well, if at all.
If you can't get this thing going, then go with the B&M shiftplus.
Remember to make your adjustments with the engine off.
What is your TCS set to?
Try driving your car with the line pressure at full for a day or so.
Don't worry about the hard shifting. If you have the engine mounts, upper, and lower, you won't hurt anything, including the tranny.
See what happens in a day or so and let the ECU relearn the new setup.
It generally takes a full three days for the ECU to fully learn a new mod or setup.

I adjusted it the way you said to. I set the line pressure at 75%, and the TCS all the way up.

Make some different settings then.
Try it at 50 percent for both and see what it does.
You can gradually make changes as needed or until you're satisfied with the settings you've implemented.
If you're not used to the seemingly jarring shifts that the Interceptor can give you, you will.
Once you're hooked on it, you'll never go back to the stock setup.
Let me know how things go.

Dude, when everything is right, it should sound like a blow off valve when you're shifting.
I remember many times in the 1/4 mile that the 1st-2nd shift would be like pffffffttt and the same with the 3-4 shift.
Beautiful sound to the ears and pretty awesome.
Many would come up to me after those runs and ask if I had a stick tranny, I was shifting so hard.
Time my friend and you'll see.
It's late, I'm off to bed so post up tomorrow what happens.

misnblu... your just full of information hahahaa
now, comes the really tricky autotrans question
![](/global/images/emoticons/ab.gif)
i had shifted tweak my tranny's settings when i sent him my VCM... i have no idea what he said all the line pressures and such at, so would it be a good idea to try my interceptor n see if it helps even further?
Probably not.
If he's changed certain parameter in the VCM for line pressure and TCS, I wouldn't mess with it at all.
He may not have you set for max line pressure and if anything, you could have him readjust line pressure to suit your needs.
If you're running HPT, then have that software do the tuning of the tranny for you.
If and when I get HPT or MS, I plan on removing the Interceptor, rebuild the tranny, and let the software do the adjustments for me.
Good luck with it zyaaaa.
Btw, you could use the Interceptor but I personally wouldn't use it with the settings Shifted installed. If you had one laying around or one you could use, you could always experiment with it.
Find out what percentages he programmed for line pressure and TCS and then make that decision.

our cars were seperated at birth and are crying out to us saying "daddy's we are trying to be twins, we want to be re-united"
LMFAO!!!!!!
misnblu... i bought the interceptor over the winter, so i do have it just 'lying' around for use, idk if i'll screw with it or not, we'll see. i wish i had the know-how and the motivation to use hp tuners by myself, then i think i could tune it even better, but the whole idea just freaks me out, not to mention its like $600... idk if id want to spend that kind of money on something i have no idea how to use.
I feel the same way as you Z-yaaaaaa I would love to get it and tune my car some but that isn't happening.

It's all about learning.
We all know we can use the software so buy it, read a ton on it, and then get to work.
Like anything, it'll become simple in its understanding once you understand the terminology, and how things work.
Good luck guys and don't be scared to learn something that can potentially make your car its best.

Well got some good news the car is learing the autotrans interceptor. It still throws on the trac off light sometimes but it's getting alot better.

shifted said he increased the VCM tables with the hp tuners 10%... idk if that means more than the ATI or not, i asked him, so he should be getting back to me soon
i may just end up using the ATI afterall, as i really wanted the tranny pressures at like 75% and the TCC lockup moved to where the "virtual 5th gear" is in play... he said he torched his auto tranny when he adjusted things to high, so idk.
