You will most likely need a bracket we sell for the front tranny mount also...

It all depends on how well you search around when buying the parts...

anywhere between $500 - 1,500

I'm personally in the 2,500 range because I bought brand new, hydrolic lines, clutch cables, transmissions mounts, poly bushing, short throw shifter, Team Green LSD, bully stage 4 clutch, all new fly wheel bolts, drive shafts...

Then had to track down the engine harness, pcm, seperate.

But i know you can do it for far less using stock parts or getting a wrecked donor car. I had a donor car for my eco swap, but it was an auto and then i wanted to go manual.

i want to know how hard it was to convert everything over.

Its not hard. But you need a welder,a solid amount of time and money.

Drill firewall with 1.5" hole saw I think it was after you measure it all out for the clutch master cylinder. Install new pedals, clutch safety switch, weld mounts to frame, and re-install everything for a manual.

Maybe a 7 out of 10. Its not meant for everyone, but its something that can be done it you put your time and research into it.

What year is your car? You have nothing listed in your registry.

Also, when I went to check your reg to see what your car was, I noticed you say you have your own auto repair business.
Not to be a dick, but if you have your own auto repair business, you shouldn't have to ask how hard it would be to convert an automatic car to a manual. Any decent mechanic can do this swap, but as said above, you're going to need to do some measuring and cutting/welding to replace the mount(s) and properly mount your clutch master cylinder.

If you're confident in your ability to cut, grind, and measure, and can either weld the mount or know someone who will do it for you, you should be able to handle the swap without a problem.

OK, so one thing to watch out for is making sure you get a tranny of a DOHC motor. If you stick with a 95-99 Z tranny, and get everything from the donor car, you should be good to go. Your best bet is to find a yard with a 95 Z24, and get ECM, harness, cluster, and console. Then do the above mentioned mods, and it should be pretty smooth.

One thing to think about, though: a car that old, you can go find another one that's already a stick, and sell yours, and you should make out about even, or throw in some more dough and get one that's newer and/or lower mileage. Just a thought...

89K on a 95? That's pretty good. Mine has 140K on it and it's been in the garage for 3 years.

I thought you already had the tranny, cables, and pedals?

If you need everything, seriously just find yourself a donor car somewhere. It will make your life much easier. Remember, you need to change out part of your wiring, or the harness itself (simpler), and either change the ECM or have it reflashed. Plus you'll probably want to change out the cluster to one without the PRND321, and you'll need the trim piece for the center console.

Get all the parts you need in a pile, and drive the car into it.
They will find their way into the correct places.

You can use a 2000 tranny, if it's froma 2.4.
Since you already have to re-do your mounts to switch, it's just a matter of getting the newer mounts.

However, you'd still need to hunt yourself down a 95 Z with a manual for all of the rest of the parts, so for a questionable tranny, I personally wouldn't gamble. If you knew what had to be fixed, it might be worth it.
