Performance Parts For Cavalier, Sunfire, Cobalts and More!!!
Dude..... search the forum. I haven't personally replied 5-10 times in them with everything you need, within the past 4 mos.
anyone know how much this ish would cost like to have it done up?
FREE-DOM
It all depends on how well you search around when buying the parts...
anywhere between $500 - 1,500
I'm personally in the 2,500 range because I bought brand new, hydrolic lines, clutch cables, transmissions mounts, poly bushing, short throw shifter, Team Green LSD, bully stage 4 clutch, all new fly wheel bolts, drive shafts...
Then had to track down the engine harness, pcm, seperate.
But i know you can do it for far less using stock parts or getting a wrecked donor car. I had a donor car for my eco swap, but it was an auto and then i wanted to go manual.
i want to know how hard it was to convert everything over.
Its not hard. But you need a welder,a solid amount of time and money.
Drill firewall with 1.5" hole saw I think it was after you measure it all out for the clutch master cylinder. Install new pedals, clutch safety switch, weld mounts to frame, and re-install everything for a manual.
Maybe a 7 out of 10. Its not meant for everyone, but its something that can be done it you put your time and research into it.
well im just making sure i know what im getting in to before i do the swap so im not in over my head. its a 1995 Chevy cavailer Z24.
ya i plan on getting another Z24 but this one already has a new paint job and it only has 89,500 oraginal miles on it with me being the second owner.
i have not driven mine in a year. so...lol ill check on here see if anyone has a 5speed trans up for sale for a good price.
ive also done a how o in the forum on the atual tranny swap..just search for getrag swap
the guy that had the tranny for me said it was junk. so now i have to fined a new one.
know of anyone on here that has one for sale??
i have a junk one for sale. might bee a simple fix might not. $25. yes. twenty five. get this thing out of my garage. wait @!#$. mines from a 2000....... do it anyways lol

Get all the parts you need in a pile, and drive the car into it.
They will find their way into the correct places.
i need to find one out of a 95 so the ecm and everything match up.

You can use a 2000 tranny, if it's froma 2.4.
Since you already have to re-do your mounts to switch, it's just a matter of getting the newer mounts.
However, you'd still need to hunt yourself down a 95 Z with a manual for all of the rest of the parts, so for a questionable tranny, I personally wouldn't gamble. If you knew what had to be fixed, it might be worth it.
yeah, i got no damn clue whats wrong with it. i THINK its the pin or whatever on the inside or the linkage
