ok i know people did this tons of time but just answer the questions,,,,i didnt get an answer from any of the posts i read on this. i have a 2000 cavalier 2200 with an automatic,,,,i just bought a 99 cavalier 2200 manual,,,i wanted to know if the mounting brackets for the shifter inside the car were the same and if anyone have any pics or information on this swap. i know i have to change the pedals and the bracket for the tranny on drivers side,,,,,,but i could just use the 99's computer with my 00 wiring harnes right? also i wanted to know more about the reverse light switch,,,,,,,if i have to change it with the swap or what,,,,,,im new here but not new to cars any help would be greatly apriciated thank you for ur time.

i'm pretty certain that the counts for the shifter is different beeinngs that there is a large plastic object that holds the shifter on a ball that pivits in several directions. i'm not posotive about that. i would just take a trip to the junk yard and pay the 2-5dollars to go in and look at one and compare.
