F23 clutch options

I've been going thru as many of the search results i can find on clutches for the f23 tranny but im not getting direct links to make it easier..

cobalt 2.2/2.4s have the same tranny as the eco cavy from wut ive seen. i mean i got a short shifter kit from a cavy in my 2.4 ss. I recently went turbo and my next mod is a clutch. i was originally gonna go with an exedy stg 2 but theyre only rated for 350wtq. my end goal is about 450-500whp and i was told there are "Bully" clutches out there. how do u get them and wut stgs= wut power level? any help is MUCH appreciated, as ill be buying my clutch soon. the exedy stg 2 is 350 shipped for reference also..

No less than a Bully stage 4 - 4 puc but, if you're shooting for 500, I would not buy a "off the shelf" clutch kit, thats measured in stages.

Call a GOOD reputable clutch shop and talk to them. Tell them you are making 500 and want something that holds.

You'll likely end up with either ceramic or sintered iron for the matl. and a pres. plate that is about double the stock clamping load.

I don't know where you are from but if you are from the USA, you CANNOT go wrong with SBC. South Bend Clutch. They know clutches! I'd give them a call if I was in the USA...

Just make sure that you get a clutch for the right car. The delta body clutches IIRC are thicker then the jbody clutches, and won't work in a jbody as a jbody clutch wont work in a delta. Just make sure you check it out first. I am not sure if they make a delta body clutch, but I loved my clutchmasters clutch when I had one in my ford. I have a LUK in my car now, and LOVE IT!

I have a stage 3, 4-puck, bully clutch and if my memory serves me correct I heard something like 260 ft/lbs (although it says has an increase in torque capacity of 100% on the bully site). I have also heard 400hp being run on the stage 3, but not sure how true that is. Looks like stage 4 is sprung as well with a 200% torqure capacity increase, and a stage 5 is unsprung with 200+ torque increase capacity.

where do you guys get the bully clutches though?

im not at 500whp yet. that's my end goal. ill be at about 300whp after i finish addressing a few issues and get my tuning done. so i want a clutch thats good for about 300-350wtq. im not gonna add anymore power to that until i build the new motor.

Talk to Raven for bully. He got ours order and shipped to us. Great guy to deal with. I believe it was 650 plus border fees for a stage 4

Clutch master fx700 would be nice but i dont know if you need it for what you are looking for. Brandon just likes to show his off

I dont blame him lol

I know, just wishin we had one

We had a spec stg 3 on the turbo car, needless to say when we took it out, EVERY spring pocket was cracked. The plus series are only way to go with spec it seems. I had a 3+ on my eco until I swapped in my ld9. The drive ability was alright.

For any High HP applications, the bully stg 4 and clutchmasters fx700 seems to be the clutch of choice, at least for me!!

That clutchmasters FX700 sounds like it is working well for you, that we got for you. Little bit of trouble in the begining but it all got worked out. Twin disk

I am on my third year using a spec stage 3+ clutch, during my teardown this winter I measured it and be specs standards 0.020" worn it was toast but I put it back in anyways and put 10K of hard km's on it and I just came in from a run not long ago. I am impressed with it, I can bog the car in third and it will light the tires up when it spools and I can launch it at the track and it still holds. I drive this car like I stole it and no problems, I am interested to see what it looks like this winter. If too worn I will try a fx700 and see what thats all about.

Think a bully stage 3 will hold 300whp? I'm hoping it will cause I just put it in 4 months ago and not really excited to have to put another on in after 10,000kms. It says 100% torque capacity which 100% over stock would be around 300 (stock LD9 = 150hp). Guess I'll have to wait and find out in the spring.

as it stands the spec 3+ is my last option. im shooting for an exedy stg 2 right now. this bully stuff is interesting as well as clutchmasters but the clutchmaster's are probably outta my price range.

SPEC 3+ is great until it decides to take a crap on you. Then it's a worthless piece of crap.

Clutch Master twin disc all the way, if you wanna be a big dog.
