I have a 02 z24 about 3 years ago the roll pin broke and the dealer charged me $850 to fix it, the pin broke again and this time I know where it is and how to replace it. My question is do I need to remove the ABS module and master cyl to get to the shift linkage and and shaft and if so will I need to bleed the brake system after I have put it all back together again.

You could remove those things to free up space. If you disconnect the brake lines then yes you will need to bleed the system.
