I know that most people when they swap a 2.3 quad into their z24's they also swap the trannys out too. Do you have to do this? what is the draw back to not swapping the trannys also?
you dont HAVE to. we do it because the tranny that came with the quad is a getrag. not only is it supposed to be a stroner, more reliable transmission, but it has better gear ratios. but it is not a NESSACARY part when doing the swap.
So do most people that upgrade their ld9 also upgrade their tranny?
anyone that has an isuzu tranny does...95-99 usually upgrade the nvg tranny...and anyone that has a 2000+ 2.4 probably already has the newer getrag so they dont need to swap anything
