ok so i browsed the tranny forum all the way to 10 regarding info for my general question so i SEARCHED so i wont get flamed for not doing so,so my question is can (its probably very stupid) can i run a alumin flywheel with a stock clutch the reason why i asked is cause i was thinking if the new light flywheel would spin faster wouldn't it make it harder for the friction material would burn quick causing it to premature..i dont know maybe am just thinking into this alittle to hard just. Now the ultimate question is which is the better flywheel, from what i researched on the org (1-10) theres an ongoing battle with spec and fidinza i just personally want the lighter and durable one so with like a small tally of who has what corresponding to the reply can you tell me what you use and i can compare to how many people use what and there experiences i can make a judgment so with that said.......HELP!

lightweight AND dependable?

buy a new stock one (~$60) and have it lightened.

as for it spinning faster, no. it is possible that the engine spins it easier, but 2k rpm is 2k rpm is 2k rpm.

well if theres no machine shops around my area that would lighten it what would should i do? and doesnt having a lighten flywheel allows you to accelerate faster threw the powerband, cause thats what i really want and my question still remain unanswered about having a stock clutch with a lighten flywheel is it safe to do or will it premature the stock clutch?

there's machine shops EVERYWHERE. go to your local auto parts store, find somebody with a worked muscle car (or any decently modded car for that matter) and ask them where they got their engine work done.

kinda. its more like there's less weight for the engine to spin. on the same note, the engine will spin down faster as well because the flywheel has less inertia to keep it spinning.

once the clutch is engaged, its engaged unless its worn out and slipping. again i say, 2k rpm is 2k rpm is 2krpm. when you launch it now, its gonna be the same rpm you launch at with a lighter flywheel.
