Hi,

I was wondering if anyone has a walkthrough or step-by-step for changing out shifter control assemblies? I snapped the retainer ring, and my shifter flops around. I picked up a brand new assembly at a very good price, and I was wondering if this is a job I could do myself? as far as I know, it involves removing the center console, disconnecting the transmission cables, and unbolting the old assembly, and then reversing what I just said to put it back together.

Is that correct? Does anyone have a opinion on this? Should I even attempt it or take it to a mechanic?

And sorry if this is in the wrong section - first time here, and not sure what section this would fall under.
