I have a 98 z24, with what i'm assuming is the isuzu trans in it, I had the spiders replaced, and an lsd installed, then the shift cables finally finished themselves off, so replaced those, now there is no second gear, fluid is leaking from the clutch housing area, third and fourth grind, but i'm thinking its from the fluid loss, the shifter 'pulls' its self into gear as well. Either way I think i'm just going to get a quick fix trans, so my ? is what donar cars can I source a trans from? direct bolt-up, and what other trans will bolt-upto the block even though mounts are different? also any thoughts on whats up with the trans I have would be cool, when it was pulled apart all the gears and internals appeared to be in new condition and weren't messed with other than being pulled out of the case, gears weren't taken off their respectable rods either, nor were the syncros, but the clutch had some rust on it when I first put the trans back in, and I had to shift without the clutch basically for a little bit, the car slid right into gear with no grind as long as the speed and rpms were matched up closely, so that tells me the syncros should be good? but I haven't a clue why second is completely gone, the shifter will goto go into second, but won't go the whole way into gear, grind is the best i get if im lucky. so any info would be sweet.
