I know this is supposed to be posted in the classifieds section so right off the bat I apologize for posting here but I am in desperate need of help. I had my differential go in my 99 cavalier 2.4l towards the end of last summer. Figuring winter was coming and I had the 4 wheel drive I simply bought another used transmission and set the project aside for the winter months. The guy swore to me the tranny was in mint shape and even threw in his clutch/ flywheel assembly. Well as of yesterday my car is sitting in the shop with the front end tore apart tranny out and trans to go in. I pulled the sensor out by the differential and there is a build up of shavings on it. Took a flashlight and looked down at the gears and there is a few pieces out of the gears. SO knowing this now would it be worth putting it back in or does anyone have a transmission for sale that knows the teeth on the diff are good? Let me know what you have for sale or your opinions on the trasnsmission itself......my fear is that yes I could put it in but whats not to say the synchros are shot or a gear is screwed. In desperate need to drive the Z'er again!

honestly man dont really know what to tell you here...

if ur seeing issues inside the case then you cant install that POS. best bet might be to tear into them both and build one good one from all the parts. if two sets of a piece is bad then i guess try to another one in a junkyard.

you-pull-it yards basically give these away. real easy to go pull one in a yard when you dont need to care about the donor vehicle and its up in the air already. hell ive seen some people take the motor and just heave the trans in the trunk before... be real easy for ya then! LOL
